Important points for those who have never played these games but are considering this deal:
-FFX is widely considered one of the easiest of all the Final Fantasy games. I.e. the difficulty level is well-suited for beginners. -Overall, FFX is widely considered above average compared to other games in the series and FFX-2 is widely considered as a low-quality spinoff well below any other game in the series. A typical ranking from best to worst might go something like this: FFIV, FFVI, FFVII, FFX, FFV, FFIX, FFIII, FFII, FFI, FFVIII, FFXII, FFXIII, dnf:FFXI, dnf:FFX-2 This "package deal" is like selling a new Samsung 1080p 60" LED TV bundled with a refurbished Westinghouse 480p 19" CRT TV. |

Final fantasy x was the best final fantasy hands down.... Then they moved to the "action based battles" and the series became crappy.... Probably due to kids being more and more A.D.D....... Kids these days worthless
Hmmm, how to exploit this deal.........

I'm probably one of the few people who enjoyed X-2. I didn't really enjoy it from the story perspective, but more for the gameplay and combat system. I liked the fast paced system and the class changing system (despite the fact that the implementation was extremely cheesy). Take away all the clothes changing animations, it added a layer of customization and strategy that didn't exist in any FF game prior.
It was also the first (and only) to support multiple playthroughs. If you were one of the few that went back and did a New Game+, you got multiple copies of each dress sphere, meaning you could build out the sphere grids to take advantage of all the boosts they had to offer. The classes were pretty cool too and some of them broke from the norm. Near Death + Catnip + Trigger Happy = win. ![]() I've played each game in the series, and they all had better plots than this. From a pure gameplay perspective though, X-2 one was probably the most fun. |

I have no problem with trying to build on past success: 1. XIII was just a terribly designed game, period. It suffered from lack of direction and crazy overbudgeting. I remember XIII-2 being slightly better in terms of mechanics, but the story was just absurd. Nothing made sense and everything was random and arbitrary. 2. XIII kind of went overboard. It is seriously for people with ADD. There are just way too many shiny things moving all around. 3. Crazy overdramatic. Not in a good way. I think X was the best balance of drama and other elements. |
