Final Fantasy X and X-2 Preorder $40 amazon PS3

I just finished FF IX again and was going to start on X after need for speed most wanted.....I guess I will hold off until this comes out!

I have the international version for the ps2. I run it on an emulator and using filters ramp it up to 5100 x 2880. Would the Ps3 remastered look any better then this/what reason would be in favor of buying this aside from better graphics. (note I also patched the language but ignore that in analysis) Can anyone comment on this?

For those waiting for the Vita version, you're going to have to buy X and X-2 separately. Only the PS3 version comes bundled with both!

They changed the textures a bit too. Cant say thats the best screenshot though. It will have trophies too.

I wouldnt call the MSRP a deal though. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus was $39.99 Metal Gear HD collection was $49.99 at release and that one came with 3 remastered games. All the remastered game collections release for around the same price.

You can't use the original msrp to compare this to. They all dropped to $15 or $20 each and can STILL be bought NEW at that price for ps2.

I would say this should get an msrp of $30 at most and drop to $20 quick unless there is some big demand for this I don't see. $40 is not really a deal IMO.

More or less you are attempting to render a better image with the data that is provided with the ps2 release. (Ex. model data and textures are still the same no matter what, best you can do is apply AA over it). The remastered edition probably has higher detailed models and higher textures which you can't achieve over emulating a game at a higher resolution/added filters. So yeah the ps3 version should look better by a long shot.

Keep in mind that the PS4 will be released, tentatively, during the 2013 holiday season. And no backwards compatibility.
