lezpass questionI will be doing a lot of traveling this summer so thinking about getting ezpass. Is it worth it? is it really that much cheaper...Can I get ezpass in a store? I need it by tuesday. Thank you
It's not generally cheaper if you get the basic plan - it will basically just save you time. If you're a heavy commuter there are various plans that give you discounts for bridges & etc, mostly in major metropolitan areas[e-zpassny.com].
Sooner or later, you may not have a choice as cash is fading fast. I've had EZpass for years. Leave in the glove box and use when I am heading to busier exchanges, destinations. Simply attach to mirror with large rubber band. Pay cash otherwise.
OP, since you need it for tuesday i guess you're sol, but in general, it's good to get one from a state with no recurring fees OR, if you find yourself traveling the same roads a lot to get one (or ones if financially advantageous) from whichever state gives you a discount.
for example, i know that a lot of people who travel ny/nj roads a lot have 2, a nj one to get discounts on those toll roads and a ny one to get discounts on the bridges/tunnels. nj has a monthly fee, so there are probably fewer people who have that one, unless they travel those toll roads a lot.
