Apparently they are getting rid of the 2012 stock amd getting ready for the upcoming 2013 models.
The 2013 VSX line has already been released. The 1123 has support for 3D and 4K content.

Bhp had the onkyo 818 for 599 shipped not too long ago. How does the onkyo 818 compare to this?

I'm waiting for at least the 27.2 to come out....
Only 27.2?

If you going to wait, wait for 27.6 at the minimum.

The 1222-K (model below this one) is a "rebaged" SC-61 minus a feature or two (plastic front panel instead of alum, no 12V triggers)

It stands to say the 1522-K is a rebaged SC-65.

The amp sections are the same, for sure. D3 digital amps, cool even when cranked up, very very low electrical draw. I got the 1222-K from Newegg, or else Id jump on this (if my Costco gets them), or the SC61 for 499 even though I dont think I can find that around here
I get the feature or two...and the different warranty, as they are both easily seen from a spec sheet

while you could be 100% correct...you are making some assumptions in what you say

better amp section and a longer warranty

this is probably more comparable to an Elite SC65

BB( Magnolia Home Theater) has a similar Elite model on sale right now for $499
They also have the SC67 for $999
hahaha! a better warranty than Costco??? newsflash...on this you/ are dead wrong...

probably about the same difference

the obvious difference is a different amp design of the two

otherwise you should choose the feature set and operating manner you like better

not sure what type of room correction the 818 has...I think you have jump a a level or two in Onkyo to get Audessey XT32...many swear by it

Pioneer Elite comes with a longer factory warranty than Pioneer branded products

Does Pioneer give Pioneer receivers a longer factory warranty at units bought at Costco than anywhere else in the country?

I know a couple of years ago Costco had some elite receivers online. Since Elite receivers cant be sold on the internet the webpage said Costco warranty..no Pioneer factory warranty

No we're not, it's Pioneer's common practice. Go read up a bit on avsforum.

I have been on AVS forum for years...and there is a lot of speculation there from people who dont know the definite answer either...unless they worked for Pioneer or tore the two units down and compared parts

There is an element of assumption to it

I am sure it has the Pioneer factory warranty of 1 year

I assume based on what was posted is that Costco adds their warranty as an extension past the 1 year Pioneer warranty

I really doubt its backed by Pioneer after 1 year

Elite products have longer warranties...but they are sold in B&M only...or their factory warranty is void

from the Pioneer website
"
*Pioneer does NOT authorize any dealers to sell Elite-branded products on the Internet (only in-store sales are permitted). Therefore, any Elite-branded product purchased on the Internet is NOT authorized, which means that it does NOT carry the manufacturer's limited warranty and does not qualify for any manufacturer's rebate."
