LIFETIME?

so if I buy a TV they will fix it 25 years from now?
No, just everything else, they modified the lifetime satisfaction guarantee on TVs, Projectors and Computers to only provide a 2 year warranty because too many people were returning TVs and PCs years later to get an updated model... but you'd know this if you spent half the time actually reading Slickdeals (or Avsforum for that matter) that you do pontificating about things of which you are ill-informed.

could be....I wonder since they are under the same umbrella as Denon how much different they are?

I have never owned a recent Marantz product...so I cant say what my ears think
Turnne...Denons are manufactured in Japan, and Marantz in China. The kicker here is that the Marantz is higher end. They both use the same internals for the most part. You will get all kinds of bickering on here about how they either sound the same, or sound totally different. I always say, leave it up to the listener to determine that.

I bought Denon AVR-3312ci and it's manufactured in China. However, Denon AVR-4805 built in Japan.

For those of you in the Twin Cities area, the Maplewood store doesn't carry these, and there are 14 left in the Maple Grove store as of about 6:00PM tonight.

I grabbed #15 Wink

Thanks to the OP for this - I'm about 50% finished with my basement and have been looking for an updated receiver - this should do nicely!
I got #16 yesterday Wink

So Denon's gone cheap now too? This whole issue was just being argued about on AVSforum. I was reading up on it when I was trying to decide whether or not to pull the trigger on an open box 2312ci that worst buy had listed for $349. Don't even know if I'll consider Denon now.shake head

Geez conk, what's your problem? I'm just trying to relay what I was reading on AVSforum. You know, a good, reputable source for information on home theater products? Oh, and by the way, I know all about the Costco warranty...and not cause we were given a crash course on it earlier. I'm still going to give the Denon a listen, but yeah, I am more cautious now that it is manufactured in China, as most electronics are. As most everything is, for that matter. I sure am lucky that 99% of the products in my home are working, as 80% of them are from China, and I'm doing my part to fund corporate greed by outsourcing to China.

Oh, and since you've got me on such a rant, I should add that I actually bought a Denon receiver back when I bought my Def Tech BP7002s approximately 4 years ago. At the time, I didn't check to see where it was made. It sounded pretty good, and had an excellent video processor, but died in less than a month. I returned it to worst buy in exchange for a Yamaha VX-3900, which I was blown away by. The upgrade bug is just getting the best of me, and I'm wanting to go to another receiver that supports 3d pass-through to use with my new Panasonic Plasma, as well as a dual sub connection for my 7002s because I don't like running them off a splitter. And I am looking for something with better video processing.

Conk, people posting on these forums are looking for advice. That's the point of a FORUM. If people are misinformed, they are quickly corrected by the community, most of which aren't jerks about it like you.

OP, reps to you. I'm gonna see if Costco received any in my area.

I have no issue wih anyone who has an INFORMED opinion. You stated that because Denon was made in China that you "Don't even know if I'll consider Denon now."
That is not an informed opinion. It is moronic. So, since Denon has moved most production over to China has there been HUGE ISSUES with them? Explain to me how you are going to be "more cautious" if you decide to listen to a Denon?
And yes, have heard of AVS, been a member there for over a decade and have owned more receivers in the last few years than most people do in a lifetime. (it's a big hobby for me)

I believe Pioneer outsources its receivers to Malaysia, I have a same model Japanese and Malaysian made elite blue ray player and when opening them up, they have the same internal components. I think nowadays, where it is made is where it is assembled. Point of manufacture these days does not really matter as it was once. With upgraditis in 4-5 years especially with never ending deals on SD, no need to worry.

I edited that post. You may want to look at that. And curiosity has me. What receivers have you been the happiest with? I have considered giving Denon another shot, but I also like the Pioneers and the new Aventages. I would get an Integra if I had that much disposable income, but I don't.

And to address your snappy yet harsh comeback regarding my misinformed "made in China" comment. Most of the proof I get is in the product reviews on Amazon, BestBuy, and other retailers. There has been a rise in issues with Denon receivers, and unfortunately to say Pioneer as well, which is where that Costco warranty comes in handy. I have no idea where Pioneer is manufactured, but I know a lot of people are reporting early failures of their receivers. But, I suppose that is "MORONIC" of me to look at people's accounts through reviews, because that's all probably misinformation too.

I also bought Yamaha Aventage RX-720 which I hooked up to Energy RC-70, BIC 1220 this combination is awesome. I think Yamaha RX-720 is better than Denon 3312ci.

Anyone can compare this receiver with YAMAHA RX-V773WABL which is on sale for $480 at Newegg now? Thanks in advance. (or even RX-V663 comparison would help)

I may try calling or checking in Costco tomorrow. (Monday)
