Thanks to both of u. No I do not have any external speakers atleast for the TV that I am talking about. As for Netflix, I play from the Smart TV only. I have Roku too for this TV, but still the volume is same. To hear clear and loud, I have to play at 60 voulme bars.

But on my other TV (Panasonic), I can hear clear and loud at 20 volume bars only. This TV has the external speakers( the free ones that came with this deal back in 2008 or 2009 from bestbuy deal that was posted here)
A soundbar with a wireless subwoofer might be more to your liking.

If you are playing it through a smart TV, it would most likely be a software issue. So the question is, are you planning on purchasing speakers?

Yes I am thinking off, but not sure which ones do I need to look into.

Like I said, I am not a tech person and the Sony TV that I purchased was from one of the SD deals back in March 2011 (KDL55NX810 for $1750 with taxes). When it comes to sound, I am not happy with the TV at all. Had a tech come to home in 2011, he said that it was normal for those models/brand to have such low sound and told me it would be better off not opening the system as it was brand new and also he did not see any problem. So stuck with it.

If any suggestions for speakers, I appreciate any help.
Thanks

I don't own a Roku so to clarify... 60 on the volume bar, you are referring to the Sony TV not the Roku correct?

That's pretty bad either way. In my general experience, Sony TVs come with pretty decent sound. Cheaper brands like Sceptre usually skimp out on the speakers to cut costs. I would expect a 1700 dollar TV to provide some decent audio.

Anyways before we continue, what is your set budget on speakers? Will you use them for TV/movie/music or perhaps all of the above?

Yes the voulme is on the TV and not Roku. (Got Roku from DishTV recently) when playing netflix especially. But for regula dish tv, it plays good at volume 35-40. Below that is again awful. While on my Panasonic below 20 is loud and good, but for good sound with friends and stuff 30 -40 is really lod and clear. Kind of like my Panasonic for volume and Somy for videos.

May be $200- $300 for speakers. Not sure if I would get anything decent in that pice range, as I do not have a room for threatre kind of stuff. Tv is wall mounted, in the living room. Yes I need for movies, music everything.

If you're only spending 300 dollars for speakers, you can probably safely ignore this deal. The best options at the price point is something from parts express.

Buy 3 pairs of these, a receiver, and some speaker wire and stands/mounts and you should be set.

Just picked one up from the Chula Vista 91910 location. At 4PM 4/7 they still had at least 8 left.

After several calls to the two Grand Rapids Costco's since the start of this thread, my patience wore out and I drove to the Brighton MI store today (2 hours each way) and picked up the receiver. There were 12 left as of 4pm today.

I can't wait to unbox it and set it up, replacing an Onkyo HT-RC260. Completing my taxes can wait until next weekend, right?

I called today and asked my local Costco to look up the item number, the manager said that they don't have any and aren't sure if they'll be getting any, but he thought they will be getting some, because he could see that the "depot" (read: DC) was getting them in about a week or so. He suggested I call back on Monday and he'd have any idea when they'd be getting them, if at all.

I drove all around twice to get 2 of them. I had to return the first one because of a defective channel. It was way worth the drive for me. The audio from this amp is very refined IMO.

You guys need to pick up the BDP-62FD Elite at best buy for $199. I did!

Precision quartz lock (PQLS)on all channels is a beautiful thing.

Got tired of waiting for a local place to get stock, so I had a friend ship me one from Colorado Springs. The Nevada Rd. location had 19 (18 after mine) left today when she picked it up.

No, actually, I had not seen that. My only regret is that the amber will clash with the white LED LCD of my SC-1522-K. Stick Out Tongue Going to return the Panasonic BDT-230 I picked up last week for $130 and snag one of these.
