I would definitely look elsewhere. Klipsch horns are notoriously edgy and fatiguing, especially when pushed. Not even close to neutral sounding or musical IMHO. Gotta go with their THX certified and higher models to get better quality IMHO.
If you want a good starter system, try HSU Research on the web. Their monitors look like they're similar to Klipsch designs, but they're just wave-guided dome tweeters and have a smoother sound and can play in fairly large rooms (within reason, of course). Fairly efficient and easy to drive with a receiver. And you can get a really good subwoofer for the money with their package deals. Don't know what your budget is, but their Hybrid 15 deal includes an excellent bang vs. buck 15" subwoofer. You can add more speakers if you want a complete 7 or 9 channel system.
Another couple well regarded online sellers are Ascend Acoustics and Aperion Audio. Couple with an HSU, SVS, Rythmik, or similar sub.
Not to be a jerk, but why did you pair up an beefy expensive receiver for relatively inexpensive (and efficient) speaker? Do you plan to upgrade them in the future?
This audio world is new to me so bear with me and my ignorance.
I was planning to buy AV receiver and speaker set for the money that Costco is offering this receiver. After some thinking and research I decided to get this receiver and now I need to save for speakers and sub-woofer. I work with a budget so I will not be able to go with high-end components (HSU Research, Aperion Audio, Rythmik, B&W, Ascend Acoustics, MartinLogan, Definitive Technology...maybe used at craigslist?). I’m planning to go with a 2.1 or 3.1 setup initially and then build up in the future instead of going with HTIB. My living room has an open layout and it is a small/medium size, I'm planning to use the system for 60% movies and 40% music.
I was reading good reviews about some system lines top picks http://www.hometheater.com/conten...t-speakers and also in brands like Bic America (FH6-LCR) and others that are more 'affordable' to me…, maybe slim/small Floorstanding Speakers? Any recommendation for a good/affordable 3.1 setup? Any thoughts against buying them used from audiogon or craigslist?
I realized that sound has a personal like/dislike component but I was trying to get a good foundation and eventually grow on that.
Thanks in advance
[QUOTE=CouriPut;58803324]Anyone having issues connecting to Pandora? I did the usb update and it says server error. Even checked internet settings, did microprocessor reset, still the same.
I dont know if your Question have been answer but you need to update it with new Firmwire which they have the instruction in their website....
Well anyone in Richmond, VA is going to be SOL. Richmond will not be getting any based on what 2 different clerks told me today.
That item #751220 (the Pioneer) has been replaced in the system for this area with a new item # which happens to be a Yamaha receiver for $499. I did not get the item # or model # as I am not interested in anything Yamaha.
Both clerks stated there store was supposed to get the Pioneer but due to availability issues it has been replaced by the Yamaha which is scheduled to arrive next week.
