Plasma's are still the best...

"Although it's priced higher and performs worse than the best plasmas, the Sony XBR-HX950 is still one of the top-performing LED TVs ever"

that's stupid. You can't compare a certain LED model tv to a certain model Plasma TV to get which is better LED or Plasma. What are you getting is that the best plasmas are better than the Sony XBR-HX950. Not the overall consensus of which type is better. So let me get this straight. From what you are saying is that a $400 plasma TV beats a $1000 LED tv? That is pretty much comparing apples to oranges.

Even the cheapest plasmas have better PQ than the expensive LED's. Its more like comparing bargain tvs vs more expensive tvs. The latest models of the plasmas for 2013 barely use any more energy than LED's. Plasma still has other disadvantages like reflection but really... there is no doubt that plasma has the best PQ and that's why I linked the article... it reviews the best tv's of 2012 and to even get on the list it had to be a cream of the crop expensive back-lit LED... yet plasma can easily get on the list and a much cheaper price.

Plasma offers the best PQ per dollar.

while I agree with you generally

you need to look at some full array LED's..there have been several good ones over the las few years...Samsung B8500...LG8500/9500...Sony XBR

The Sharp Elite typically up near the best there is for 2012...though yes it is expensive

CNET
" Sharp Elite LED-based LCD produces the second-best overall picture quality of any TV we've reviewed since 2008."

Plasma does offer the best PQ per dollar

Can I flip the e Giftcard on a site like CardPool? From their website it looks like Dell gift cards aren't eligible for electronic redemption, so it's like there's no option to sell them an e Giftcard. Thx.

Still think the LG is better, Granted it's not 120hz. but the other one included 3D, it was 42, and priced at 400 which didn't require coupons to buy other stuff at dell.

Good deal unless you get the sharp panel (hs-03) which has an abysmal blue ghosting.

Your second link (the 120hz model) is not the same model number as this Dell deal....Even Walmart and Crutchfield have the OP's model as a 60hz unit
