So I have a big review of the Homelite electric chain saw
I did a big limbing job today with it. I cut some 8" diameter limbs down with it, did the job completely and quickly. I had it up on a ladder, was nice and light with no issues, then I was chopping limbs and processing on the ground. It uses a fair amount of bar oil but who cares I got a big bottle for $3. I am impressed and very happy with this purchase that paid for itself in one hour of work. The saw has plenty of strength
The 16" 12 amp Homelite electric chainsaw comes to $45 with code RY4312 - can someone with experience chime in whether it is worth the difference v/s the $30 12" Homelite chainsaw. Usage limited to occasional homeowner backyard use.
I got the $30 14" Homelite chainsaw and took it camping earlier this Fall. You should have seen it go through the logs and branches we found in the woods, when the wood we brought started getting a bit thin. Thanks God the group sites have electrical and water hookups for my friend's RV's! (I'm a tent camper, myself). Anyhow, unless you have some really thick stuff that needs cutting, the 14" should be both big and powerful enough.
The one they sent had a dull chain (I tested it after I got it). I contacted VM and they sent a new chain that really did the job.
