The case on this model is anodized aluminum as per the Dell website. Don't post specs if you don't know what you're talking about.
It has an anodized aluminum finish (per the Dell website), which judging by the the feel of the laptop currently in my hands, may or may not be aluminum. The chassis is all plastic guys, the lid and the wrist space next to the tracking pad are the only parts of the laptop resembling aluminum in any way, although it's quite nice.
In fact I remember reading, I believe in a previous slickdeals thread, where someone was quite put off by the fact that they received a laptop that was plastic and called Dell, only to receive an explanation that "anodized aluminum" is the color of the laptop.
You can read about the case here, which indeed states that there are pieces of aluminum attached to the all-plastic computer:
That's right. For me the $200 coupon didn't work anyway on the webpage where the offer for free stuff was (free printer or backpack was at MPP program page and the link here in the original posting is for shop at home). So I called in and played stupid - already got the shipping notice
Damn. oh well, I'll just get in on the next offer. Maybe wait for the Haswell.
Found it funny that the "Market Value" of these things changes as the "sale price" changes... The W7 machine from the first page of posts had a market value of ~$880 last week and now its >$1000. Seems like something fishy...
