I've purchased applecare (extended) on eBay with zero issues when I've needed to use it. Just find a vendor with 100% feedback and it's around $168 or so[ebay.com] in sealed box. Or $179 at bhphoto is you are wary of the bay.

If the price is low, but the product is junk, it's not a deal.
Currently thumbs downing all >$0.33/gig Samsung TLC 840 SSD "deals" and dual core "MBP" deals.
Typing from mine as we speak. Seller is reliable and the machine was brand new. Successfully registered with Apple and full warranty.
The reason for the model number difference it these were intended to be sold overseas. Zero issues though here in the US.
Buy 16gb of RAM for around $70 and a 256gb SSD for around $150 and have a machine that will last you a LONG time...total for $1220...
Happy to see someone is assuring about the buy. I will upgrade to 120gb ssd and 16gb ram. Under $1300, a fast and reliable machine.
For some fellow slickdealers: Apple products are always a rip-off price wise, its nothing new. However, I have not seen apple products starting to fall apart just after the warranty period is over. I have an early 2008 macbook pro. Specwise its nothing compared to todays computers, but its more or less providing me the same performance it was providing 4 years ago.
