Thread Details

Saw this cartridge at the Dallas, GA Walmart for a buck. The other similar games for the Smart Cycle were about 30% off ($17.) This one was almost free given the $25 retail price. I price checked it just to see if it was not a mistake. Nope, a buck. This store had about 5 left in stock on the rack. Went to Walmart.com and searched for Smart Cycle. No matches. My hunch is they are discontinued and going to be going down, down down in price. Just find that clearance isle and good luck!

Sorry, what does this mean, "OP used the words?"

Original poster used the words price and mistake in a sentence.

People have deal alerts for "price mistake", but the deal alert will trigger even if you don't use those words together, like you did. So the people with the deal alerts get mad at the OP instead of the deal alert itself and thumb down the deals.

Thousands of SD members have deal notifications for "mistake," as in "price mistake." You used the word "mistake" in your first post, so a large amount of people have and will be flocking to this thread. Though it is not your fault, people will likely thumb down this thread because they aren't getting the price mistake they thought they would.

Hope this helps,

Watch the TDs roll.

Don't ever use the word mistake in your OP, you will trigger the alerts of thousands of SDers who will trash your post that you wasted 5 seconds of their time.

Tells us something about the innate nature of the people on SD (and people in general) doesn't it? Frown

So, let me get this straight. I took the time to search the clearance rack, find an item I believed was a fabulous deal ($24 item for a $1), find a price scanner to verify the price, take a pic, send an email with the pic to myself to post it on SD, search SD for similar posts, publish my findings to the community, and I'm the SD'r who is in the wrong because I used the word "mistake and price" in the same post? Maybe SD should look for better developers to "narrow down" those search parameters. Isn't that why we use quotations in the technology search engine industry? I have been an avid user of SD for 6 years. This is why I have only 22 posts! And, from this point on, it will remain at 22 posts!!!

Don't take it personally, the majority of SDers appreciate the people posting deals. However, the price mistake mafia are lazy individuals that want a free lunch and want someone else to make that lunch and serve it to them on a platter.

You are right though, it is a flaw in the deal alert not your post. But don't let it stop you from posting, because the vast majority are much more appreciative.

No. Technically, I wrote the post before it was posted. Chicken or the egg?

Don't worry about it... I am sure some people will actually be happy that you posted this and will be able to find this item in another store or the one that you found this in...
