Any idea what kind of drive is inside?? Can I put it into a desktop?
Very likely a caviar green drive (not 7200rpm) and you can remove the drive from the enclosure and place it in a desktop but you void your warranty. If you go this route, make sure you put the drive through some vigorous tests before removing. Of course even if it passes all your tests, that's no guarantee it will last.
