Haha. Wow, I thought we were done with 65K or lower displays. This is probably okay for a basic kid/early teen smartphone.
Edit: According to gsmarena.com the official spec: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_g...0-4612.php (3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100), which means this phone won't get 3G on any US carriers, unless this is a US specific model with AT&T 850/1900 MHz bands.
I am going to with all due respect disagree with a couple of opinions.
I'm into gadgets, and have had before iphone, Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile. I now have the Samsung Galaxy S2 (SGS2.)
For about 99% of us this phone is more than enough. It has a single core 832 mhz processor. My Blackberry had a single core 600mhz processor, and I could do everything with it. Yes, I said everything. With my SGS2 I have a dual core processor. My phone is rooted and has a custom rom. (Rooting is akin to Iphone jailbraking and custom rom being a tweaked version of the operating system.) If you choose to root this phone it will run better with better features and customizations. But it is not necessary and you will be able to use 99.5% of the common apps.
Unless you are going to play very graphic intensive games and play and record a lot of video; this phone will be great.
Agree 100%. Main reason i need an android phone is so that i can use WhatsApp over wifi instead of paying for messages and this serves the purpose well.
The Fusion 2 is a better deal (especially last week when it was 60$). I unlocked mine and it works with T-Mobile's 3G (you'll need to be in the refarmed 1900 mhz. uploads were slow though).
480x320, 512 MB ram, 800 mhz (benchmarks slightly faster than my snapdragon first gen, SE - X10 and Play). Only real big negative for it is that it appears stuck on GB (and no flash on camera.. but it's only a 3.2 megapixel snapper anyways).

thanks for the suggestions! I checked the local store, no stock. Probably right about amazon.
I'll keep my eye on ebay. just picked up a used G2 on craigslist, but most people still want over $150 for these android phones that are 2+ years old. Needless to say, no SD'er will pay those crazy prices
Oh, T-mobile btw, just realized you asked. I'm not looking for new. Got the G2 for me, probably looking for a G1 or a concord for other lines. I hear the Dart is mildly acceptable for what it is (cheap and basic "smart"phone), and wouldnt mind putting my hands on an Optimus T.
I'd be happy for other suggestions. I keep up with PC hardware, not so much the mobile stuff.
