Still a hell of a lot cheaper than an ophthalmologist.
Plus, the CEO makes an excellent point. You're wearing their product sometimes for 15 hours per day or more. It's about style, comfort and aesthetics. I remember reading years back people buying knock-off Chanel sunglasses (yes, Luxotica is the maker of Chanel) and having to go to ophthalmologists because the sunglasses actually increased the amount of sun that entered the pupil and hit the retina.
But, do I care about the eyes and eye health of anyone on slickdeals? Nope, not in the least bit. To each his own.

"In the 13 months I've been in the Senate, it has become apparent to me the single thing that Democrats hate and fear the most - and that is when they're forced to tell the truth. It makes their heads explode. An awful lot of the Democrats wanted exactly what George W. Bush wanted, exactly what John Boehner wanted, exactly what Mitch McConnell wanted, which is to stop the raising of the debt ceiling, but they wanted to be able to tell what they view as their foolish, gullible constituents back home they didn't do it."
amazon was selling polarized ones for $100 AC recently. I got two pairs of the non polarized Wayfarers for $115 shipped.
That sounds closer to what I am used to. I switched to the Streets style about five years ago for the full wrap around. Finally broke my pair a few weeks ago and picked up some polarized ones for 105.00 shipped on Amazon.
