I would stray away from Best Buy refurbs, although that is just me being angry over bad customer service. Big Grin
Anyways, these two don't sound all that great judging from reviews.
These Best Buy refurbs are popping up all over with these same models. I am returning one with a glaring dead pixel on the screen. There are even more over on woot but I'm gun-shy now. There must be good reason there are so many refurbs of the same models.

Bought the a10-4600m for $74 or so off ebay but no idea what they are going for nowadays, and I already had some arctic MX-4 thermal paste. Was pretty straightforward taking out all the screws needed if you have some knowledge in building computers and i finished it all in about 40mins. (lenovo also had a manual for the laptop showing which screws to remove) Plus i sold the old a6-4400m cpu for $40.

...Holy crap, I had no idea that the Lenovo laptops have the APUs socketed instead of soldered in.
Buying the A6 then. Easy upgrade path for that sucker.

I was looking for inexpensive replacement for my current laptop. Picked up Toshiba C855D-S5196 [staples.com] at Staples for $238 last week when it was on sale, got it for $238 after coupon and rewards. Processor was concern on the one at Staples, but price was right. Then saw this one and snagged it, thanks OP. Just would have liked to see Win8 come on it.

The Lenovo N586 uses a 1x stream Broadcom wireless N card. It will get at most 72 Mbps on wireless N. Also only certain wireless cards are allowed due bios whitelisting. Unless you hack the bios, it will be hard to upgrade the wireless card since Lenovo approved cards for this model are hard to find.

Hi Makivante,

I purchased this laptop and would like to upgrade my CPU to A10-4600M and I noticed you have done it. Any heat, BIOS compatibility issue with this A10-4600M APU? Any driver needed to be updated to support it? Your reply is greatly appreciated.
