I have found that at Lowes home improvement store their computers will take off the exact amount of a debit/credit card balance. Most stores will deny a transaction if it isn't enough to pay the entire total. That is a huge headache when you have a bunch of $15-20 ones. They also have a huge variety of gift cards. The first time I had 2 $50 prepay home improvement visa gift cards. I told her it would probably get denied but instead it took off just $50 and had a remaining total of $50. The next time I saved a few of the prepaid cards from P&G. I had $115 in prepaid cards so I bought $75 in gas cards and $50 in staples (was going to be doing the $50 in ink deal that week) I had 5 or 6 cards to use. It's really easy, scan card, give card to cashier to input last 4 digits of card and sign. I have done this every couple months for a year with many different cards.
Target is the same way of processing Visa gift cards
