i thought that $280 price was for the 512gb 840 pro for a second and almost bought a bunch lol. the $200 price for the 256gb pro is okkk. not great. it hasn't really been going down tho for a while. maybe i should just bite the bullet

Very good deal, I posted the same albeit less detailed.

To connect it no, you might need to rig it into a spot if your tower doesn't have slots for 2.5" drives

Noob alert!!

So is the 512GB pro worth buying? I am heading out of the country on Apr 10 for 6 months so I think this might be the last time a deal on these comes along in time...

Depends on what's "worth it" to you. The non pro 500GB was on sale at $260 couple of weeks ago. Non pro is TLC which has less life than MLC, but both should last more than 10 years if you are not a heavy user (i.e. 10gb/day)

Maybe the pro and non-pro would be cheaper by the time you get back!

No this is a SSD meaning no moving parts. Put it anywhere inside the case you have room and the cables can reach. Heck, if the computer is never moved, you do not even need to screw it down, plop it on the floor unless it is dusty. Upside down, sideways, vertical or suspend it with magic.......

Just make sure you have SATA cables and not PATA is really the only concerns.

Glad I got it for 147 yesterday. Otherwise I would have bought the 256 pro today for 50 more.
