Exactly This. I wish they made a normal remote for this TV.
Changing channels that are not sequential is a pain in the ass.
Completely agree about the remote. I have a Harmony, so I never use the Magic remote any more. The only reason to buy this TV is for the picture quality and the passive 3D. If you want a smart TV, add a Roku for about $50. Then get a Harmony for another 50 bucks, and you have the perfect TV
The remote is actually pretty amazing, if you'r annoyed by the "thousand" button typical TV remote has. It mimic a virtual mouse action on TV screen which otherwise would be cursor move one at a time as seen in Roku and DVD players, in the newer gen TV's ocean of TV apps.
This TV picture is not as good as Samsung's top line, but noticeably better than LG's lower line such as LM6500, LM6200 when watch next to each other in store.
I would go to best buy and try to get them to price match. I own the 55 inch version of this TV and this model is well known for its back light bleed issues. Buy from somewhere where returns are easy if you arent happy with the unit.
is 3D really worth it? I tried a few times from local store (bestbuy, costco) and dont see the advantage but annoying.
"but annoying?" What?
3D is fine if you have the proper source for it. They don't have the appropriate source at Costco, and I'm not sure about Best Buy since I haven't been there.
I bought this TV when it was $799 with 6 pairs of glasses + blu ray player free last year, and I've used the 3D feature maybe 5-7 times, but it was with 1080p blu ray content made for 3D. It was a treat.
