Have purchased the Rosewill TN360 toners in the past and they haven't worked out too well for us. The most recent one is doing some skipping/clicking thing on the gear which causes it to dump toner in horizontal lines all over the paper. Great price, but based on my experience with the past 3 Rosewill toners, I would recommend passing on this one.
Ever since I tried a Linkyo toner I've been having problems with the toner smudging off the printed page. I can literally rub off the toner. It never did this with the Brother toner that came with the printer. Is there a setting I can change to fix this?
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
If you have one of those sliders on the toner or drum housing you can move, slide back and forth to it's original position to clean the corona wire.
There is a process you can do to clean the toner cartridge and drum assembly if you are having issues with print quality. It DOES work, but it is messy and you need to be comfortable taking apart the drum assembly. Basically after a while and if you're using refurbished cartridges the rubber wheel and wiper that transfers toner to the drum will become coated in toner in odd patterns (mostly the wiper). You will notice this by streaks in your prints or more toner in certain areas.
I've heard toner is carcinogenic (didn't look further into this, but treated it as if it was), so be very careful not to stir up a whole bunch of dust while you're messing around with it.
You want to do this in a dark place with little sunlight as to not damage the drum. I used soft paper towels without any cleaner on them and wiped down the drum. You will see on there where there can be stuck on toner. Just use gentle force and wipe it clean. Then you will see a rubber drum that is attached to the toner unit. Wipe this down as well and turn it as you complete one side so you can clean off any stuck-on-chunks. You will notice it will spread more toner on the drum as you turn it, do not worry just wipe off all you can. Then you will notice a rubber wiper attached usually to a metal strip with several screws in it running the length of the drum. Remove those screws and the wiper. Wipe the rubber wiper down thoroughly as this is what usually causes uneven amounts of toner to be "wiped" off the drum as it obtains more toner from the cartridge. Once you have cleaned it, replace it and clean the rubber drum one more time just in case any large amounts of toner were spilled on it. Re-assemble the cartridge and print a few test pages. The first few might have some extra toner on them, but the prints should get cleaner after a couple of pages.
Did this to my cartridge that was 5+ years old and it made it like-new. I just re-fill the toner with the large bottles whenever I need it now.
Hopefully this helps someone. I know there are some guides online with pictures if anyone needs them.
