I got 8 soft light LED fan bulbs.. Each is rated 3w/15watt CFL so I will replace my 8 12 watt CFLs bulbs in my 2 fans..works for me for ceiling fans..
The comparison is for incandescent wattage. these are nowhere near as bright as your CFL bulbs. These particular bulbs are best for outside lights meant only for finding your keys at night or for low level accent lighting.

The efficiency of these bulbs is mostly terrible. Think of the 1w cree at 100lm as your benchmark. That is about the best led around. For household use bulbs , as opposed to optimum specs on a single unmounted led alone, led bulbs should provide brightness equivalent to cfl's, and in theory should be better. (42 to 65lm per watt typical). Verbatim has one LED bulb that offers 470lm using 7.5w available at staples. $13 each. The 7w bulb here gives 240lm - about half as efficient (34 lm/w). if the listed specs are accurate, maybe this is really old stock? Obviously, these could be good for hard to reach areas or where total brightness is less important.
