Thread Details

(Saw this on CheapAssGamer.com)

Apparently you can now buy Amazon.com credit (Giftcards?) at GameStop.

You can even use your credit, your in-store credit to buy them.

How long will this last?

I do not know if you can use straight up GameStop Giftcards to do this yet.

I did this last week. Use $145 GS credits +cash to buy $150 (6x25$) Amazon credit. I saw they put a few Amazon card in the glass shelf, when I asked about buying them, the cashier said the physical card is a gift when you buy Kindle tablet. But they could sell me the $25 digital code. I didn't keep the receipt after punching in the code into my amazon account.
Anyway, this thread is not a Hot deal itself, just a heads up for people who is holding onto GS credits. I traded in an Ipad 1 last year for about $200+ last year and did not know what to buy from GS, besides the occasional $20 starbucks card when I need to top up my starbucks account. Everything else seems overpriced.

Or you can trade your used stuff at amazon and get ~25% higher value in amazon credit and not deal with gameflop
Or...Or...you could just Ebay your used games and fetch at least 4x what Gamestop will typically give you. Then shop on Amazon using paypal.

Lol, there's really no reason to deal with Gamestop. Regardless of what anyone will tel you about their 30%+ trade in promos.

There's only ever two choices. They can play soft music while they bend you over the barrel, or play death metal.

You can't wait to get bent over for $70 per game without anal lube? Sounds like you've been institutionalized, Brooks. laugh out loud

Yeah, sell on eBay and get raped with 15% off the top for fees, then let USPS grab sloppy seconds. Sell a game for $40, end up with $30...at least until the buyer claims your game "wasn't as described" and gets a full refund, all while sending you back an empty case. Net profit = -$10 and no game. LMAO

4X more? Doubtful. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Show me any way that an eBay listing pays me $135 for a busted-ass Xbox 360 or broken PS3 that I bought for $20. Yep, that's what I was getting just a couple of months ago from Gamestop with 100% extra promo. Traded in over 100 consoles in 30 days, made over $15 grand in credit for a measly $2,200 investment. Used said credit to purchase Skylanders for $15 per and let guilt-riddled parents scoop them up at over $60 each. Turning $2K into $60K in under 90 days is reason enough for me to deal with Gamestop. bulb

Does anyone know where the cards are located on the shelves? I have been looking for these at my local gamestops ever since they first announced the Kindle Fire HD was going to be sold there yet haven't ever seen them in any of the stores. Thanks.

Read my earlier post. The physical card is in the same shelf with kindle tablet, and not every store has this shelf. Matter of fact, i found it at an EB store, not Gamestop, in an outlet mall. They won't sell these physical cards but you can ask for $25 digital codes at cashier.

Keep waiting, because Sony already said that they won't. And it would be dumb for Microsoft to do it on their own, because no one would buy a system where they are forced to pay MSRP.

And what do corporate apologists get out of bashing used games? It's not like the developers and publishers actually give a f*ck about consumers, anyway. Many of these games have DLC ready before release, now.
Nothing is wrong with DLC pre-release.
