(Saw this on CheapAssGamer.com)

Apparently you can now buy Amazon.com credit (Giftcards?) at GameStop.

You can even use your credit, your in-store credit to buy them.

How long will this last?

I do not know if you can use straight up GameStop Giftcards to do this yet.

You can't wait to get bent over for $70 per game without anal lube? Sounds like you've been institutionalized, Brooks. laugh out loud

Yeah, sell on eBay and get raped with 15% off the top for fees, then let USPS grab sloppy seconds. Sell a game for $40, end up with $30...at least until the buyer claims your game "wasn't as described" and gets a full refund, all while sending you back an empty case. Net profit = -$10 and no game. LMAO

4X more? Doubtful. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Show me any way that an eBay listing pays me $135 for a busted-ass Xbox 360 or broken PS3 that I bought for $20. Yep, that's what I was getting just a couple of months ago from Gamestop with 100% extra promo. Traded in over 100 consoles in 30 days, made over $15 grand in credit for a measly $2,200 investment. Used said credit to purchase Skylanders for $15 per and let guilt-riddled parents scoop them up at over $60 each. Turning $2K into $60K in under 90 days is reason enough for me to deal with Gamestop. bulb
Where did you get all the controllers and cables you had to have to trade with them? I read GameStop can have some hefty refurb/deduction fees.

Can't wait for new consoles to kill used games and kill gamestop.
The console market is already on the decline, and there's no guarantee a new generation of consoles is going to fix that. Blocking used games (or the ability to take a game to a friend's house to play as a result of blocking used games) would just be another nail in an already pretty close to complete coffin.

The PC market can get away with a digital only, no used game sale structure because there are dozens of online options for buying games that are competitive enough to keep pricing in check. If console games go digital/new game only and you are forced to one single point of purchase, I don't see that going well for publishers in the long term.

I don't like Gamestop, and I avoid them whenever possible, but they are not a symptom of any real problem, they are only a problem due to their own business practices.

I did not keep the receipt but found this in my powerup rewards account (see attached pic). Ask them to look up SKU 550003.

Thanks I'll try again later, their cards had a promo sticker on them so they wouldn't budge. Still got credit from the egifter promo and some trade-in stuff so it'd be a nice exchange.

You could have always bought used games at gamestop and then traded it in on Amazon to convert Gamestop GC to Amazon GC.

I do that sometimes, a lot of items are blocked on my amazon account (and the family) from already trading the max per title Stick Out Tongue. Car dealerships down the street do promos on weekends so I pick up a ton of movies/games/music then trade in the bad ones.

EDIT: tried calling to check with the sku, one would sell but not the other.

We would only be forced to pay msrp if it was digital only. With sales, it's fairly hard to avoid getting newer games at a discount now. Most games can be had cheaper new than used at gamestop anyway.

Sony already said that games are going to be between $.99 and $59.99. Where do you guys find your rumors?

Nothing is wrong with DLC pre-release.
Right...who needs the whole game, when we can just unlock it in pieces.

The game is designed with DLC in mind. It's possible some features wouldn't be included anyway.

So I guess you fixed the systems then brought them in? Brilliant idea and man thats awesome congrats wish I could come up with an idea like that! Frown
I fixed some, but some I just gave to GS busted. $160 for working, $135 for non-working.

I typically have some 50-100 controllers and cables just lying around. Refurb fees are usually $25-$35 for Xbox 360/PS3s.

Agree with this 100%! Those clamoring for all DLC all the time are asking for consoles to die a quick death, not to mention losing free market competition over consumer dollars. Foolish, to say the least.

Just bought $150 in Amazon credit with a GS gift card. This SKU is 100% accurate. Store did not have physical cards, and only sells Amazon credit in $25 amounts.

When/if digital download only becomes a reality game prices will skyrocket. Without competition, where's the incentive for $ony/M$ to sell you any game at any kind of discount?

This is the most ridiculous mindset I've ever seen. Take a look at what M$ tried to pull with it's "Fable III: Buy it in Chapters" robbery. So, you want to pay $10 per chapter (5) for an old-ass game when you can just buy the whole game on disc for well under $20? Sorry, but $5 - $20 is always better than $50. bulb

It's bad enough that many games are already adding things such as "Online Pass" for an additional $40 on top of the $60 we're already paying upfront, plus another $30 per month just to have a server to play multi on. Then, you've got developers wanting us to throw down for day-one DLC that should have just been put in the game in the first place. Even if it weren't about cost, I have zero interest in having Battlefield 4 come out with 1,000 microtransactions options and/or paying $1 per gun.
