I'm not a constant downloader so I think it makes more sense for me to sign up for a month or 2 here or there when I have built up a download queue. Will the monthly price be increasing in the near future and if so, what will it be?
There are a few that offer VPN per month or days

Have any of those been vetted and are trustworthy? Do any of those keep logs?

Depends which gateway you connected to. If you left it on auto, it'll probably select the closest gateway.

Check your IP. If it didn't change, contact their support. Had an issue like that with my laptop. Had to run the app in compatibility mode and disable IPv6.

Also, I don't see a Japan option so that's probably an issue Wink

I have this service manually configured on my Macbook Pro as well as my iPad and my Android phone. You don't have to use their application to initiate the VPN connection although their application is the only way you can enable port forwarding.
actually what is the port forwarding feature used for?

I got it their service working but it is on a linux virtual machine and it is configured via the built in linux vpn connection setting module instead of PIA's client.

Usenet is so flaky nowadays.
So if I'm behind this VPN service, I shouldn't receive any letters from downloading bit torrent files, correct?

This is a lie. Stuff has to be logged. How do you think they comply with DMCA and child porn laws?
In the US there are no data retention laws. This is in contrast to say the EU where virtually all countries have data retention laws. They are every bit as protected as tor nodes in this respect, compared to say Germany where a court just ruled that German citizens are responsible for whatever activity crosses their computer, even if it is encrypted and they have no idea what it contains.

I'm glad that many of you got this working fine. I could not get this installed on either of my laptop computers -- windows 7 and vista. Turned off fire-walls and Norton360 -- nothing but errors. First 3 hours they tried helping me through chat -- I had to uninstall and restart the process several times. Then suddenly chat helpers were gone and in the chat window it said leave detailed message with email and they would reply -- no reply in 20 hrs. I had bought a year sub but cancelled just now. Probably cost me the year fee but we'll see I guess, I mean I only had it less than 24 hours.

In US, there is no data retention. But if there are enough complain, can FBI or government agencies with court order force a company (especially based in US or EU or has servers/operation in US) to install device at their server to monitor what's going on "at real time" and report things like child porn violation or terrorist activities or other illegal activities?

Submitted a ticket last night, got a response in 8 hours. Are you sure your ticket went through?

Also, I was chatting with them once and it said the same thing, that they were gone. Left the chat window there a few minutes and they came back.
