Anybody looking for help redeeming these points for TRAVEL so that you can MAXIMIZE the value of your points, let me know...
Redeeming points for these giftcards is sheer nonsense. No offence OP.
Rep unto others as you would have them Rep unto you.
Yet it is not our part to master all the tides of the world,
but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set,
Uprooting the evil in the fields that we know,
So that those who live after may have clean earth to till.

Looking to travel to California with my wife soon, what can I do with 53,000 points? (fly out from Pittsburgh).
That would get you 2 economy RETURN tickets, from Pittsburgh to California.
The cost would be 25,000 miles+ about $80 (fees, taxes etc) PER person.
Edit: I take this for granted so much, that I completely forgot about this...In order to transfer the points to United, you'll need to have either the Chase Ink Plus or Ink Bold or Sapphire Preferred. If you don't have any of those, then you won't be able to transfer the points unfortunately. Sorry.
I would have recommended transferring your points to someone that had one of those cards, so that THEY could transfer these points out, BUT what with Chase cracking down on people selling points, there's a good chance that one or both of you *may* have your account shut.
