Just got mine, came with a seemingly-permanent thumb print under the samsung logo. Plugged it in, popped in an install disk, and I get bombarded with "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"

Tried several different disks from windows to linux to osx, all returned the same message. Suggestions?

edit: nvm solved
How did you solve this?
Edit: my problem is actually in loading Windows from the DVD. I get the following error message:

Your PC needs to be repaired

The operating system couldn't be loaded because the kernel is missing or contains errors.

Error code: 0x000098

My guess she used some free sterile alcohol prep swabs from a recent CVS deal to wipe the print away. The kernel can be a bad FTP download or burn. Try to install from a USB and download the image again with the help of a download manager if USB still do not help.

I bough two of these, and have Win8 installed, but the scroll feature doesn't seem to work too well. It almost seems like it's not at all sensitivity, because works, but only at times, and never smoothly. Anyone else having these issues?

I just tried the scroll (first time on in 8) and it took a little getting used to. the two finger scroll worked fine as long as I kept my fingers about an inch apart.

I received my laptop in near mint condition however the laptop keeps notifying me that my Windows 8 key has exceeded its number of uses and I need to buy a new key, isn't the laptop supposed to come with a valid copy of Windows 8

I have an HP Envy m4 right now but I know I can get $600+ for it on eBay. Do you guys think its a good idea to get this for $290 and sell my laptop for some extra money? Haven't read the whole thread but are there any big problems with you guys laptops. I don't need help with the OS or getting Windows 8 on there (apart from AMD drivers that I'm not familiar with).

Anyways, hoping to get this if its a good enough trade off for my m4. The specs for the m4 is its an i7, 8GB RAM, 2.2Ghz, 1TB HDD, Intel Graphics 4000. I plan on just upgrading the memory and ram on this Samsung if I get it.

Also, is there is any other $300 or less laptops on Cowboom for me to consider?

I'll never buy a refurb laptop from Cowboom ever again. Bought My Asus G73JH there and it barely lasted a year before total death.

Nevermind, found it. For those of you that need it: http://www.pcpitstop.com/drivers/...apter.html. on page 15 or 16 of these comments a guy posted something from google docs that has the rest of the drivers.

I cannot find the correct drivers. I got Windows 8 installed but the laptop is not going into sleep mode properly and seems to intermittently spin the dvd rom even if a disk is not present. It looks like Samsung pulled them off the website. Any ideas? Thanks.
