Have this in my HTPC, super quiet, really fast (gets close to 2009/2010 model SSDs with up to 190Mbps Read / 130 Write). I got a used 2TB Caviar Black for only $120. My opinion is to save an extra $40 or $50 for an extra TB. Newegg still doing 10% off for NEWCUSTOMER code?
Right. So without the flood I would have expected to buy a 3 or 4 GB drive at this price point by now.
It's just tough to get excited about $80/GB for hard drives.
But you just can't ignore the flood. It happened so your expectations should be adjusted accordingly. Also this is a premium drive so it can fetch a higher price. Look at the price of a WD VelociRaptor or any SSD. I have seen run of the mill 1TB drives for $60 recently. You should be happy that drives are back to 6 cents a GB. Right now this is a good price for a great drive.
