Thanks OP! This was much easier than the Assassin's Creed attempt because the site stayed in English when you opt into India. I hope it works come download time, my BF has been running D&D campaigns for 20+ years and it's his B-Day this week. I'd love to have something extra to surprise him with.
I just did this, it said the game was free, then when I hit accept, I got charged 800 msp. WTF?
This is because you did not follow the directions in the OP. If you follow the OP it is impossible to get charged, because the account you create does not have any MSP on it and it is not tied to any sort of payment (like a credit card).
The game is ONLY free if you use an Indian account. If you are logged in to a non-Indian account and go to the page, it will realize that you are using a non-Indian account and it will show you the non-Indian price on the confirmation screen. If you ignore that and still confirm the purchase, you will get charged.
Basically, to spend money you must:
1) Ignore the OP.
2) Go to the page with a non-Indian account.
3) Try to purchase with a non-Indian account.
4) Ignore the confirmation screen which shows the amount to be charged and click purchase.
After an hour of talking to support, I finally got the points refunded back to my account.
You are extremely lucky as the general rule is "no refunds," especially as this was not on sale for the region that you used.
That said, now that the issue has been raised with support, I'd expect the deal to die rather quickly.
