Man, I have sooooo many headphones now! Just bought the Sennheiser HD439 on clearance at Best Buy for $50 last night. Have the M50's, HD280's, HD555's, Sony MDR-V6, HD428...I think I have around 15 headphones now! What is wrong with me?! I don't need these!! Must resist!!
Haha. Maybe you could sell a few of the ones you have and jump on a higher end set if that's something that would interest you. It's not unreasonable, though, to have 3-4 pairs if you really love headphones, and want, say, an open set for jazz and classical at home, a closed set for some wub wub, and an IEM for more portable use. Hell you could even have a scrubby portable pair if you're worried about damaging them in certain circumstances.

But uh, yeah, I think 15 is a few too many Smilie Buy this one only if it offers you something the others don't and you can sell some more redundant sets to pay for it!

As a fellow victim of the buy-it-bc-its-on-sale virus, I'm just doing my part to help another victim.

Here is a much better deal for under $38.

Audio-Technica ATH-M30 Professional Studio Monitor Closed-back Dynamic Stereo Headphones

Ida know. Why would you post that here? That is pretty much the going price anyway, so hardly a SD.

Also, apples and rocks!

I had the same exact problem. "Mismatched drivers." For the most part the left side was weaker but when playing a full sweep [audiocheck.net] the left side was louder at certain frequencies. Unfortunately for me I asked for an exchange instead of a refund, and the new ones are supposed to arrive today Mad

edit - the left side also failed the bass shaker test, but the right side aced it.
Yeah, I tried that on mine, and it seemed like there was at most a very mild volume deviation between the earpieces; I wasn't even sure if it was really there.

However, the binaural listening test scared the ever living crap out of me.

In!

Anyone have a ups or fedex coupon so I can save some money on sending back the ones I ordered from them last month for $165?

Got these for $170 recently during the Buydig frontage deal. Well worth at at that price, and a steal at $130. I have owned both the ATH-M50 and the Sennheiser HD 595s. These are a BIG improvement over the ATH-M50s and blow the HD 595s out of the water as far as clarity goes when not using an amplifier.

Well rocks to you. This is actually a great deal at $38 for a pair of very highly rated closeout phones with a $120 msrp. A great option for folks who dont want to spend so much on a pair of overpriced phones.

Stop being so negative and you might actually get a friend.

I bought it $164.95 last month. They have 45 days for return.
Should I buy this one and return the other one to get $164.95 - $130 this one - $10 return shipping = ~ $25 ???

I used to be an audiophile back in the day. But since getting married (20+ years ago) it's always "Why does it have to be so LOUD?" when it's anything above a whisper. So...in 4 1.

If I have the HD555 now, are these worth the upgrade. I know they're a different class, but $129 better?
I've owned the HD555s. Totally different sounding headphone. Imho, the 555 was arguably the best bang/buck headphone out there, but I would never listen to R&B, hop, rap with them. The 555s were my workhorse headphones; my only pair I had kept past 2 years.

If you need a good pair of closed headphones that has adequate soundstage, detailed lows and mids, the Creative Aurvana Live would be a good choice. They hit around 50 dollars on sale, currently it's 75 dollars on Amazon.

Well rocks to you. blah blah blah.

Just seems a little self serving to come to a thread that is about a product that is several tiers above the one you want to promote because you started your own thread and want to funnel traffic to it!

People looking at these cans are typically not looking at those cans!

And, you really should not be overly impressed with the discount when compared to MSRP! That's a tactic that they hope the noobs will wet all over themselves about! But, look at all the other sellers that are selling it for a similar price. That's the true test.

Getting the recurve bow the other day for $3.99 vs all the other seller's $45+ says great deal.

Yup!! If you make minimum wage (I mean you obviously don't run your own business), it's a no-brainer and well worth your time to screw a company and stick them with a loss!

I always say, "Stick it to the MAN"!!
