Just FYI, went to home depot in Chantilly VA yesterday and they had this same deal, although it was advertised as $10 for 5 bags instead of $2/bag. - edrock200

^^^^ is that some sort of joke?! lmao - iseespot

Iseespot...I think the distinction is that possibly "$10 for 5" may mean that only if you buy 5 do you get it for $10, otherwise the per bag price for less quantity may be more; for example, if you buy 3 bags, they may ring up $2.50 a bag instead of $2.00. Not sure if that is what the poster of that statement meant but that's what I'm guessing. - izzybob

That is what I was implying. I'm not sure if you have to by 5 to get the discount or not. - edrock200

Pricing good through 4/10 according to Iowa Lowes. -bch7

I use only bulk native hardwood mulch that is biologicaly active (hot). It is actually cheaper that way too. Read about mulches here before you buy. http://www.ktrh.com/pages/gardenl...-mulch.pdf

I made the mistake of putting black mulch around my property last summer. Every leaf and speck of anything shows up on black and you can't clean it out, it looks very unkept. Take some advice and get a lighter color, dead leaves and other debris that blows into the mulch will blend right in.

Maybe this is location specific. Homedepot also, in Delaware it was just Black Mulch.

I need to go by my local lowes to see the quality of the load they have ... I have bought this in the past and not happy with the content ... it was shredded wood that was colored

I think that depends on if you buy cheap mulch or not.
my black mulch is still pretty black a year later, a bit faded, but still dark and pretty close to black.
