I bought a bottle of mulch paint concentrate, works awesome. Sprayed my yard half way thru summer, made mulch look brand new, and lasted the rest of the season. will use that to even out the color

Good luck, matching the color even on uncolored mulch after a year seems impossible for me.

I've never worried about termites in the mulch but I promise you this... freakin' Black Widows love this stuff! I have never in my life come across a Black Widow in the wild until I started mulching my flowerbeds. You can turn over any landscape rock in my yard and I'd say there is a 80% chance that a Black Widow will be under it. This year I am going to have my yard treated for these things. Just an FYI with the mulch and if you live in a region of the country that is prone to these suckers.

Both stores within a hundred miles show $3.48. I can see the $2 price at a store that is an hour and 45 minutes from here but nothing closer.

Just got back from Lowes (Erie,Pa)...one store had 70 bags and the other store had 4,000 bags in stock. Could only carry 233 bags because of weight.. With all the discounts, they came out to $1.675 @ bag ($22.61 yd) Way cheaper the buying black in bulk

$1.675/bag - How is that possible? Or do you mean before tax?

Edit: NVM, guess you did 5% and 5% Discover thing.

Maybe there were black widow eggs or babies in the batch you got???
When we built our home 2.5 years ago I was horrified at the number of black & brown widows I kept finding and killing on my house. I will never know if they just live in our area or they were from all the new mulch laid around our home. I have small children so I've been spraying pesiticide like crazy; I hate them being around chemicals, but I can't afford a ambulance/hospital trip is someone gets bit.

According to Google, Black Widows love mulch. I could not figure out why my whole life I had never seen one in the wild and then, boom, all of a sudden they are everywhere. A little searching and I found my answer. I mean, they are not aggressive spiders so I'm not worried about stepping on one or anything like that. You have to actively go looking for them. I'm just putting that info out there about the mulch in case someone here has little boys that like to go digging in flower beds like I did when I was a kid.

What's bad about the Black Widow bite is that you probably won't even know that you were bitten until you start getting sick.

Thx OP. I usually wait till the end of the season for a deal like this. Don't forget the Veteran discount either.

According to the handwritten sign, the $2/bag pricing is good through tomorrow (4/10).

it ended on the 10th. meaning while you got it for $2 last night, it is no longer $2 today.

Thanks for the info. I just checked my store again and they still have the dark brown on sale for $2 (other colors had gone up to $3.33). Bought 20 bags for pick up.
