This is a great price on one of the best Blu-ray players out there. This is a "Universal-Disc" player, so it plays DVD-Audio & SACD in addition to the obvious ones. No brainer...EEK!

This is for brand-new, non-refurbished. Price is only good in store. The web site link below will list the full price. Rest assured it is $199.98 in-store.

One more thing about these these elite players people, they'll stream just about any video file you throw at it and the same goes for playing media through the usb port...kinda like the wdtv live when it comes to video streaming & local media, this is no ordinary player when it comes to blu ray playback quality either...yes I can see & hear the difference when running a higher end denon, pio, blu ray players etc through the same home theater that a ps3 is running through.

Someone please talk me into this instead of a BDP-103
A lot more money, but I would still go with the Oppo. It has built in wifi, analog outputs (which you may never use), and better video processing.

Some of you really are funny with the whole "How can a blu-ray player cost $200" thing. This really isn't a thread for you if you're asking that question.

Some people are concerned with nothing more than a low price. They don't need or want half the features the Oppo offers. I will admit that the 105 is overkill for most of us, even the 103 is more than most people need. For those few that appreciate it (and can afford it), Oppo is the way to go.

the 103 still has as few issues that need to get ironed out. I speak from experience and I own the 93 and 103. you can also buy the Pioneer for less than half the 103

In for one. Local BB didn't have one, but they're bringing one in from another store. Thanks and repped!

This'll go very well with my $599 Pioneer SC-1522-K from Costco and my $1299 LG 60LM7200.

Top end of midrange setup for just over $2100. Can't beat it with a stick.

I agree with everyone else - if you're asking "why is this so expensive," you aren't the target audience of this player. Just buy whatever the cheapest Sony/Panasonic player is, or continue using your PS3s.

This is a great deal for that player, although I did buy the Oppo BDP-103 at launch. I'm not sure that the Pioneer is purely region free out of the box, though there may be simple methods of making it region free.

I just picked one up at Best Buy in Secaucus, NJ. It was tagged as $399.99, so I walked up to the counter and asked the guy to check out a price on the BDP-62FD for me.
He said $199.98, Thumbsup, receipt below.

Thanks.

I was actually tagged $199 at Best Buy in Santee California.

Thanks for the scan though.

95 and then the 105 here. Love Oppo products!

Dang this kind of pricey "Price: $1,199" I'd rather build myself a very nice HTPC & buy 2 PS3 with CFW for that price!!!!
Not only that, but most current AVR's do not have multichannel analog IN. To enjoy the highly touted analogs on the OPPO you need and AVR with analog IN. The ones that do are going to make the user pay through the nose.

IMO, OPPO territory IS the land of diminishing returns.

If only SONY would include DVD-A on their units...........it would be the ultimate universal player because of the price and features.

Could be wrong here, but I believe the Pioneer has the same video processing chip as the Oppo. The Oppo is a great player, but I don't think it is worth the difference in price with this deal. It does have a few more features though, so if you need them it may be a moot point.

Both use the Marvell Qdeo video processor, but I read somewhere that the Oppo uses a newer version. Of course I can't seem the find that while at work.

It is the ELITE line.. high end stuff..

So is there anyway for me to find one of these for 199.99 without going store to store?
