Werent these just on sale for the same price a couple of weeks ago, that had mixed reviews? Mostly negative ones on durability?

can these be placed sideways without the lid falling off? weird question but it comes in while working and i need containers that won't warp the lid off when on their sides in back of a truck.

How thick are these?
any suggestions-
I have 2 garbage cans, and the squirrels eat a hole through them, and then ravage my garbage bags
Any suggestions for a SD on something they won't go through?
<edit> preferably non metal
thx

Cyanide or Rat Poison mixed in with the garbage will do the job

I've had 7 of these for a few years now and despite the reviews that are negative about durability I've found just the opposite. I haul my recyclables in these and they have held up fine even when the lids were buried under the snow in very cold weather and were stepped on they did not crack. Yes these are thin but for the price they are a great deal. Yes you can get thicker ones and from what I saw the prices were 5 times as much so no way for me.
As far as the lids staying on they do admirably...standing up... on their side you can use quick ties to hold the lid in place as there are holes already on the lid and handles for this purpose. Hope this helps
