Gold in no way compares to tech.
Tech prices are supposed to damn near drop daily.

Now if this was something else that actually held value like gold, I'd be for your argument.
You've been on Slickdeals since 2007 and have never witnessed price fluctations or - GOD FORBID - the end of a sale?

This is the MSRP of the monitor and it's a GOOD monitor at a GOOD value. You can thumb down the deal, but the only thing this monitor doesn't have going for it is VESA.

And you know what? The vast majority of users here don't even know what that is.

Just got mine today. First impression was it's worth ~$215 with tax and everything. I mean 27" IPS screen just sounds good. Second impression is the DVI cable is too short. Third impression is one dead pixel, then multiple dead pixels, then I wiped the screen and realized they were dust specs lol. Thanks OP!

It does look amazing for a 6 bit AH-IPS panel.

The newer VA panel monitors should technically still have blacker blacks though at a comparable price.

Yes, I have been here long enough to know people don't want to pay a higher price when they know it's been lower.
And again, especially on technology.

Could care less about the VESA mount myself.

this guy acting so big like a toddler. you don't belong here shrine, try deals plus you might find your haven there.

Opinions are opinions. After buying one for $200 + tax , I wouldn't consider buying one for $240+ tax.

If it had a VESA mount , I could see myself buying three of them.

I just found a third party mount that can mount non vesa monitors and make it vesa compatible, but the one I found was expensive, I'm sure I can find a cheap one which can accommodate bigger sizes.

Heres the one I found, but this one is $108 and it only accommodates monitors up to 22.4"

I'll probably just build my own custom vesa mount for this monitor if I ever decide to mount it.

Exactly. No sane reasonable man calls others' opinions idiotic these days.

I wouldn't consider $239.99 a deal for this.

It's an opinion you know...

The lack of a VESA mount means it's not going to be easy to put the monitor on a custom stand.

It's a good deal if you don't care about custom stands.
im with u, this is a luke warm deal but for 250 bucks i expect more, for 200 the vesa mount wouldnt matter too much.

Got 3, will be home for me tonight. Can't believe people are saying this is not a deal, its histerical. Whenever there is a good deal people didn't jump on, they point to extreme historical instances. Jeez, I remember when I score HP 2311x monitors for $100, thats still a deal tbh. However if I wanted that same monitor in 27", I guarantee that would make fp at $150-160. You are talking IPS here, IPS costs more and IS better quality. Also above 24" is usually when you start to see price/size value take a huge turn for the worse. The case where ppl go meh is gaming. I am a gamer and I will be fine. All this vma vs tn vs ips dude, just keep it simple. This is one hell of a deal. If you want to debate monitor deals, then look elseware to trool, good place to start would be the 27" dell that made fp for $500 at 2560 x 1440p. Get on that thread and go o my guys, dunno if this is that great. For $200 and sub $200 threads on SD, this community does just fine in pinpointing deals. Just got a bunch of whiny bitches every once in awhile. Go debate much higher price/res forums, theres not much to debate here, its FP.

I am thinking of a solution like this [ikea.com]instead of wallmount

Completely agreed with you there. At $200 this is as good as you can get with a 27 incher at this time. 1080p is more than enough for average Joe here on Slickdeal. Unless you are eagle-eyed. Most ppl won't be bothered by bigger size pixels.

I got this when I received the slickdeals alert couple of days ago when it was still $199. I shipped to my DE address with no tax...

I could make this VESA mountable for about a buck in parts. I'd use JB Weld (the kind with metal in the mix, I keep it on hand), plywood (cut square, painted black), bolts/nuts (size matched to the mount, I have a bin of these from mounting flat panels) and maybe one or two little hinge/flanges if the back of the monitor is not flat enough to receive the wood. Once done, no one would notice or think twice.
