Update: Amazon Printer [amazon.com] and Luster Paper [amazon.com] (semi gloss is more expensive at amazon) has the same rebate now, so it's $130+tax (on the full amount) there, now. Make sure you buy the paper from Amazon, not a seller. The default is currently a seller. Here's the Amazon rebate: Amazon rebate [images-amazon.com]

Printer supports printing on up to 13"x19" paper (as well as CD/DVD media). It gets outstanding marks for picture quality and longevity in review http://www.imaging-resource.com/P...n-pro-100/

FYI, I've personally never had a problem with the Canon rebates. I imagnie some people have, but I've done probably 10 of them over the years with no hassles.

Very hot deal if you want a top of the line color printer. Buydig has the Canon PIXMA Pro-100 [buydig.com] for $399 with free shipping with a Buydig/Beach Camera Rebate [152.254]. If you add the Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss [buydig.com] for $69, the rebate becomes $300, so you get the printer+paper for $399.99+$69- $300 rebate - $169. Free standard shipping in the US. Tax for NJ residents, I imagine. Runs $365-400 elsewhere.

I jumped on it. With being in Texas, I'm hosed on most larger purchases by Amazon tax (shakes fist). No tax and free shipping from Adorama, total $413.99 w/ the luster paper. $113.99 AR I figured I could make up for in printing a handful of large formats as gifts. Ahhhh rationalizing... Smilie

Thanks OP and NeoX. Repped.

A $300 rebate for a printer? This is just ridiculous..Besides, my last printer was a Canon - It burned out after only a year and customer support hung up on me.
How is it ridiculous?

What does your previous printer have to do with this printer?

Do you prefer the rebate to be $100 instead? I will jump for joy if this is a $400 rebatenod

Of course you could try. But just like cash back programs, the vendor is likely to report any returns, so you're risking losing the entire $300. It'd be much safer to sell the paper for $20-25 if you don't want it.
To the credit card company that you pay for the item with, sure they would know, but how could a 3rd party rebate company get access to that kind of info? Seems like it would be a privacy violation. This is why they (normally) ask for the UPC from the package...they just don't require it for the paper for some reason.

There is a consensus that purchasing from different stores, since the promotion numbers are different, is OK right? one from adorama and one for b&h?

Just called in and they said both promos are different. I don't know if its worth the $600 risk though if they change their mind.

I'm curious. Sine the rebate does not require anything but a copy of the original online receipt, couldn't you just return the paper and save another $50?

No, that would be a waste of the tax payers money and would make it more of a crime to prosecute such petty larceny. For the same reason so many illegal aliens get to live in the USA with little fear of deportation.

sad, but true.

The rebate processing company works with the vendors. Hence they typically don't process rebates for several weeks to allow return windows to expire.
