Update: Amazon Printer [amazon.com] and Luster Paper [amazon.com] (semi gloss is more expensive at amazon) has the same rebate now, so it's $130+tax (on the full amount) there, now. Make sure you buy the paper from Amazon, not a seller. The default is currently a seller. Here's the Amazon rebate: Amazon rebate [images-amazon.com]

Printer supports printing on up to 13"x19" paper (as well as CD/DVD media). It gets outstanding marks for picture quality and longevity in review http://www.imaging-resource.com/P...n-pro-100/

FYI, I've personally never had a problem with the Canon rebates. I imagnie some people have, but I've done probably 10 of them over the years with no hassles.

Very hot deal if you want a top of the line color printer. Buydig has the Canon PIXMA Pro-100 [buydig.com] for $399 with free shipping with a Buydig/Beach Camera Rebate [152.254]. If you add the Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss [buydig.com] for $69, the rebate becomes $300, so you get the printer+paper for $399.99+$69- $300 rebate - $169. Free standard shipping in the US. Tax for NJ residents, I imagine. Runs $365-400 elsewhere.

I just sold my Pro 9000 MKII from the T3i deal before Christmas.

Rebate runs for 3 months. Will Craigslist be flooded with these?

i currently have a pro9000 markii setup. Does anyone recommend this? i dont print B&W. Printer comes out to be ~150$ after rebate for this pro 100. Any significant quality from this printer from the pro9000? thanks

not really if you don't print b&w. It may be a bit better but not in any significant way. Supposedly paper handling is slightly improved over the 9000 and it adds wireless connectivity

The real advantage is in its B&W printing

I've also got the 9000 MkII and have been very happy with it. I'm able to get some impressive prints to sell and able to provide them on the spot at events and such. Ink is definitely the biggest expense, but that's the case even with cheap budget printers.

I don't know a comparison of this printer and the one I've got but this one is newer and has a couple additional features, but I doubt you'd see a noticeable quality difference except with b&w, but accurate prints color or B&W take a lot of calibration and such which some people may not really think to much about.

Great price for this printer though and anyone in the market for a printer of this variety should jump on it.

I'm guessing this is a pointless printer if all you are looking for is a quality regular printer (ie not looking to print photos)?

Yes, you're absolutely right. If you don't need the wide format and/or high quality color printing, this is not the deal for you.

This--that's where the majority of their printer profits come from--not the hardware. They pretty much give these devices away during year-round sales. People who want high-end prints are going to shell out for the genuine inks over the generic--so they have a higher profit margin with these printers vs the home-office printers (like the mx892's), which lots of people generally buy generic inks. You don't need good ink for printing documents.

well im a SDer, i buy stuff when its cheap, and then buy the generic inks Frown. 100$ per set of ink is way too pricey, unless i have a photo business or something
