I bought this a year ago, and its a really good freezer for the price. Two people can easily get this to a basement.

Some real horrid reviews at Sears.com. Looks like an extended warranty might be justified. Link [sears.com]

Thanks for that link, a good discussion there for anyone thinking of buying. Convinced me to pass on it, personally. Rep anyway to you OP - you showed me what looks like a good deal, but also gave me a link that made me realize it's not the freezer for me!

Glad you found it useful, although it's basically the same discussion as the one going on in this thread: frost-free vs. manual defrost.

Both types of freezer have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. If you just want long-term storage that you aren't ever going to be opening and using, then get a chest freezer. For me, frost-free would be a good choice because it's worth it to me not to have to regularly go through the manual defrost process...

I have a very similar model that is 4 years old, which is MANUAL DEFROST. I am buying this to replace it. Let me tell you something, I have to defrost that freezer several times per year, which means taking everything out of it just to defrost it. If you let too much frost build up, it stops freezing. I experience that also.... I would NEVER recommend a freezer without automatic defrost.....

I use one of these for my beer fridge, works great.

Holds ~230 bottles of mixed large/small format bottles.

That's reasonable I think. Let me forward it to my sister, she was in search of similar like that. Thanks for the post.

This is absolutely identical (according to the pictures) to a frigidaire freezer I just picked up from Lowes.

Anyone know if this can be stored outdoors in garage? I know cheaper models need to stay indoors at room temp to properly function.

Meh, it's mostly pretty standard stuff. Lots of Firestone, Boulevard, JW Lees, Bigfoot, Bourbon County, Founders, etc.. Nothing I would call a Whale, IMO. Anything that I get that is really awesome tends to get drunk right away anyway Stick Out Tongue
