I'm still surprised that people would take this over a Clip.

We've got 3 in our house. Each one is at least 2+ years. Never had one go bad. Never had headphone problems. Never had a clip break.

From a functionality standpoint it's not even close. The Clip just offers so much more. Throw in a screen and microSD and it's such a no-brainer. The Clips are our go to devices for hiking/exercising.
Yup, agree 100%.

I also can't believe that anyone is making a flash memory device based on only 2Gb of non-expandable memory in 2013--and that anyone is willing to pay $40 for something like that.

Some Sansa's can play AAC files.... I usually use that for the gym.

2gb in this day and age is just way too small. it means that i have to constantly switch out music about once every 2 weeks to keep music fresh.

Am I the only one who things that 2GB isn't too small for working out? Unless you guys are LITERALLY running marathons every single day, there is no way you could make it through all the music in a week in a 2GB, let alone a 4GB...

You can probably pick up a 6th gen nano (8gb) with touchscreen fairly cheap off CL. It's not much larger and has more capacity and a touch screen / LCD. However, 2GB does the job for most people and some prefer the physical buttons.

For reference, I sold my 8GB Nano 6th Gen for $60 on CL last month.

Every Shuffle that I have owned has only lasted ~1 year. They are great for the gym, but the overall life the Shuffle is terrible.
Amazing, I have the long white plastic one (gen 1?) and the one like this model but slightly larger (so gen 2 or 3) and they both still work perfectly. I keep the first one charged up for when my nieces and nephews visit.

Saw a Bozo at my gym playing Angry Birds while "working out" on the elliptical machine. Wink
Those people are entertaining. They almost are never sweating either

I'm typically not an Apple fan but I love my shuffle for running. When I'm doing a workout, I can up the volume/change the song without even looking. Also the smallest player you can find.

Agree, the clip is a far better deal. Regular price $30 at Best Buy for 4g, twice as many songs. With something this small, plastic vs aluminum doesn't really matter.
I have to disagree. I"m one of the many that have a Sansa Clip+ with no clip because it broke when I had it attached to my belt. It still functions fine, but it's much less useful to me now that it has lost it's clip.

The metal clip on the shuffle is much stronger. My wife had one for many years before my kids decided to give it a bath... Frown

I got mine in the mail today, with a little surprise. Amazon sent me two of them in two separate boxes instead of one. I checked my order info and they only charged me for one. $19.50 each, not too bad =) although at almost $10 a GB that could still be considered overpriced by some Stick Out Tongue
