Thread Details

Shipping is free at HomeDepot.com

Brand is Phillips (top of the line)

Price per BR30 bulb is $14.99 (lowest i have seen)

Light temperature is the desirable: 2700K

Has even lower watts at 9.5w as opposed to 13.5w. even less energy.

However, no reviews on these bulbs, maybe they are new. Anyway seems like a great deal.

Dag, I was going to jump on these, but the non-dimming aspect is a deal killer for me. Anyway, thanks for the post, op.

Really, you need special electronics, not special LEDs. You need to adjust the DC voltage in the LEDs usable range. Using a wall dimmer you're just adjusting the AC supply voltage which is mostly irrelevant until it drops below the requirements of the AC to DC converter and the light turns off. A dimmable DC bulb would require circuitry to adjust the DC voltage based on the AC voltage, while always retaining a high enough AC voltage to keep the bulb powered.

Now, if you have a DC system wired in your home like some people with self supplied power have, no special circuitry would be required to dim a LED, but this bulb wouldn't work in that system anyway without modification.

10% back if you go through shop discover. 5% for shopdiscover, 5% for bonus category. Makes these a really good price.

However, no HDMI dimming kills the deal for me.

The closest one found on the Philips website (link [philips.com]):

LED 10W BR30 Flood
Daylight, 10W (65W), Dimmable BR30 046677425302

Technical specifications

I don't think it the same bulb, given the Color Temperature index.

Also, HD now shows the higher price? $60? [homedepot.com]?

Only 480 lm of warm white light with as little as 8.5W of energy.

Sorry, but it is not a good of a bulb if taken the light output density in consideration.

But sure, price looks acceptable.

the one in here is 650, so it isn't a huge difference, given the price is about 60% while the output is about 73%, so the lm per $ is better...plus you can buy one and if you don't like it, return it Smilie
