Thread Details

Just came back from shopping at Costco and they had this Professional Commercial Grade 100 foot hose for 21.99 with a Lifetime warranty.

Asked one of the store managers how the warranty works and he said "Just bring it in for an exchange".

Pictures below.

I know some will Thumb Down because they do not have a membership, I ask that you please do not thumbs down because there are so many here that do have memberships and will benefit from this.

Thanks for reading this!Big Grin

Ya, I got one of these last year and it's junk. Embarrassing that this is made in the USA.

Very lightweight. Kinks easier than any hose I've owned. That's fun.....tracing 100' of hose to find the kink so I can spritz a couple plants on the far side of my yard for a few seconds.

Hmmm not sure it is the same, it felt pretty heavy duty and not thin.

I am giving this a thumbs down, for the product, not for the posting of the product. I have bought the professional Costco hose before and it doesn't compare to the black Craftsman rubber hoses. The Costco hose gets hard in even mildly cold temperature and they kinked. If they changed their material then this would be a good deal. Otherwise get a Craftsman black hose

As you may noticed I took pictures, does the current offering look the same?

Rubber hoses are good, but they do rub off onto your clothes.

My 100' Costco hose has been sitting outside for 4 years and works great. No kinks. I think the key to that is to coil it properly when putting it away.

My 100' Craftsman rubber hose is coiled in the garage and weighs a ton. Doesn't mark - probably due to keeping it inside.

Don't use Craftsman nozzles - zinc and brass don't mix and oxidize together.

These hoses are horrible. This deal gets posted every year, people go out use them for a month or two and takes them back. I tried it once and could only put up with it for a month. Save your money and get the Sear's rubber hose that's on sale.

Hmm, I have both and find that they're both perfectly good hoses. Also have a pair from costco/sears from about ten years ago. The costco one is still in great shape, the top of the line craftsman is starting to flatten out on the reel.

Craftsman USED to be good.

Seems that no matter what hose deal we're talking about, invariably there are owners who testify that the hose kinks eventually, including the Sears all-rubber hoses. I've concluded that there probably is no such thing as a kink-free hose. My question: does storing it on a reel increase or decrease the likelihood of kinking? Or neither?

I use a reel and I find that whether it is a hose or a long electric extension cord you need to spend a little time as you feed them on to reels to make sure they are going in straight and not twisted.
Everything wears out or stops performing the way you want over time, I think that people just have to decide if they want to return for exchange the hose to either Sears or Costco.Big Grin
