I've tried the community dark roast (although it was the bean and not ground) and wasn't that impressed with it. Wasn't strong enough for me and didn't even have a strong coffee smell when opening the bag.
The best stuff I've found at a reasonable price is Sams Members Mark french roast whole bean, 40oz for just under $15.
I'm not sure. I checked the reviews and no one else mentioned it, either. Maybe someone else can chime in on Eight O'Clock's ground being suitable for presses?
Well generally speaking I was wondering if I can use store bought ground coffee in french presses or would I have to grind whole bean coffee specially for the press. I have like 5 french presses laying around that I got from slickdeals and never used one yet. Also in case anyone hasn't tried Eight O'clock coffee it's very good.
