It's a good price, but know what you are getting in to with Straight Talk. You may or may not know, they are a MVNO that resells Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T. You'd choose the one that fits your specific phone, if you have a phone you're bringing from one of those networks. I have an AT&T phone, so I got an AT&T SIM from Straight Talk. I was throttled in the fall, and justifiably so. I was unaware of the 2Gb cap (which is not actually 2Gb, more on that later) so I was having a field day. Since then, I've made a conscious effort to watch my mobile data usage, which I have done easily. Well this renewal term, I was throttled 2 weeks into my service. My ROM and another app keep track of my mobile data usage, and I was nowhere near 2Gb. After TWO different ridiculous2-hour calls to their support center, I was lied to and dismissed multiple times, and the only extension anyone was willing to transfer me to was a recording telling you how not to use too much data, which I had literally just heard twice right before (these 2 calls were actually my 3rd and 4th call). They even tried multiple times to trick me into accepting the call transfer to the recording, to which I refused each of the MANY times they tried. I finally tracked someone down at TracFone corporate to discuss the problem with. She got my records from AT&T and indeed I had only used about 900Mb as I had been claiming. The trottling (at least on the AT&T network) begins at 1.5Gb, by the way.... not 2Gb. That may not be true for the other networks. It turns out I just happened to be using "a lot" (as defined by AT&T?) of data on a particular day which interfered with their network (read: AT&T users are more important than Straight Talk users), so they throttled me for the rest of my 30-day term. I asked the woman at TracFone a hypothetical- If I renew for 30 days, and on the 3rd day AT&T deems I am using a lot of data and interfering with their network, would I then be throttled for the remaining 27 days? I was told yes, that could happen.
TL;DR- you may not get what you pay for; caveat emptor.
Some of the phone deals on here are a headache in a half, Dealing with phone companys to get someothing resolved is ridiculous. I spent 10+ hours with T mobile when my phone was crapping out and was paying insurance, Well when I call to report my phone and get a new one. They told me my insurance was cancelled last week as they switched my plan. I had to take them to BBB to even get someone with a response to this as what the fark happened. Anyway got no resolution. They said send my phone in and they will look at it, Let me know if they can fix it, and go from there. 2 years of paying for insurance failed miserably. I pay for my service through a another provider. Cost a bit more then T mobiles rip off. But I get the service and customer service is right.
Person writing this takes no responsibility for there grammar, As they have outsourced there typing to India.

Weird. I accidentally used 8GB of ATT-StraightTalk data a couple months ago (4.2GB down, 3.9GB up) due to a data slurping jailbroken app on my 3GS. No throttling.
Really, it must be based off of congestion of your local network. Even if I did get throttled, paying 42.50 a month each for both of my phones is ridiculously better than paying AT&T almost $190 a month for the same service.
Here's the possible downside, take it or leave it.
If one of these guys buys the card using a stolen credit card, eventually the card will be reported, some weeks or months later the charges made on it will be declined, some weeks or months later the companies who sold services that were declined may come back and remove the service. In the case of a cell account, they'll likely revoke the months of service you have and suspend your account for fraud.
This may take six or more months to fully unwind. When you have someone selling a service card that is markedly below what you can buy it for from a legitimate retailer, chances are pretty good that the cards are not legit and/or the way it was bought is not legit.
Sometimes the unwinding doesn't happen and sometimes it takes a while. If the seller has a relatively small # of positive reviews that only go back ~six months or so, be concerned.
I have bought phone and XBL points from people selling well below market and those worked okay. I did buy an XBL service card a while back and it showed up invalid when I went to use it, but I complained to my credit card company and they declined my payment on it, but if you've got a cut rate credit card company they might tell you that you have to take it up with the seller. Good luck with that.
