Will give it a shot. I'm a heavy sleeper so I'm concerned it may not wake me. If it stinks, back it goes.

Amazon deal of the Day

lowest price I have ever seen on the 3510! Saves a bunch on electric as well as it is 100% LED and only about 14 watts(plus no replacing bulbs, that also save $$$). The older 3470 is 100 watts when the light is on full strength. The 3510 also has other extra features as well plus touch menus, however, the layout of buttons on the top sides are a very POOR design and not user friendly what so ever. Read some reviews about this issue. Just a heads up!

I have this unit and it's unbelievably effective. I admit, I was skeptical that it would 1) have the ability to wake me up, and B) wake me up less groggy - but those fears have been quenched. It's nice not having a heart attack every morning now when the alarm goes off, also nice that my gf doesn't have to wake up when I do either. I could NEVER go back to a normal alarm clock again - and I mean NEVER.

That being said, button layout is the worst. I cannot believe some design engineer thought this was a good idea - I hope they were fired. Get this clock, but plan on attaching "bumpers" to the buttons you use in the most. (Turn off light, turn off alarm - yes it does take TWO different button presses in the morning) You'll never find those bad boys in the dark.

I have the HF3470 and love it. I find myself waking up 5-10 minutes before the alarm actually goes off, but far less pissed off than if I woke up with *BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ*. I don't know _how_ it works, but it does IMO. Great price on it too...if you can afford it, it's worth at least giving it a test run and sending it back if you don't like it. I do still set an obnoxious alarm as a backup, but I haven't had to use it yet.

This has been on my long term wish list, so this deal-of-the-day price caused me to pull the trigger.

why would I need this when there's a free giant 4x10E26 watt wake-up light outside my window called "the Sun"? Smilie

I do too, but I have the decency to try to not wake up my wife(using a quiet alarm).
