No, it isn't compatible with the 20 or 24 volt batteries. I've already researched this and the battery terminal pin-out is different.
Do yourselves a favor and get the 24 volt version and at least one extra battery. I love my 24 Volt WG165 (Refurbished) and it is serving me quite well. If you have more than a 1/3 acre, an extra battery will likely be necessary to complete your yard.
Also, one other tip: After using the trimmer, be sure to let the battery cool down to room temperature before putting it on the charger. When done charging, let it cool down to room temp before using it. This should help prolong the life of the cells.
