This is almost equivalent to the deal you mentioned.
I hear you, it's not a terrible deal. If dell gc is as good as cash to you, then yeah, we're talking about a $50 difference. I didn't pull the trigger on the previous deal because $250 in dell gc was too much for me to deal with, let alone $400. I just don't see how it's FP in comparison to the previous deal, especially when you factor in the idea that electronics (should) decline in price with time.

Hate Dell for these darn GC sales. I have to pay 8% sales tax on my "free" GC. And then figure a way to sell it without getting raked over the coals by fleabay. Just discount the price.

LOL, you are giving people wrong advice. Why not sell some gift cards again and follow every ebay rule and see how you as a seller could be protected. I did everything ebay asks me to do, and the communication messages clearly indicated that the buyer was lying, you know what, ebay said they couldn't do anything unless the buyer could be clearly identified as abuser. The only thing they did was refunding my FVF. I lost over $150 over that transaction. so, if you are the first victim of that buyer, you are guaranteed to lose the case.

Agreed. I got 'screwed over' once on a gift card (luckily it was $20 / not $400). I messaged the buyer the code and within 30min I got a message from eBay & PayPal saying the buyer has opened a case stating his account was used by an unauthorized person and they refunded him the money courtesy of me. I googled the eBayer's id after to find out it wasn't the first time an 'unauthorized person' used their account. As long as you meet the "seller protection" rules you can pretty much guarantee you will be fine; always mail the gift card with tracking / never esend a gift card activation code.

I think the c.net review is too brutal.
If you look at amazon reviews it's at 4.5 stars.
I have this set.Once you adjust the settings you will like it. It did take time to get it to where I was happy though.Download the AVS calebration DVD Disk (free),and get a pair of blue glasses from THX, ($4.50) ,You will be happy if you get a killer deal, (like this), and either need something from Dell, or can flip the gift card to lower the actual price of this set.
You will also get A $50.00 egift card back from Dell Advantage also. My cards took 20 days ,to make it to me.
If this set cost you $600.00 or lower in the end it makes sense.Otherwise A better quality Samsung Led of this size might cost you twice as much in the end.
I have A AV reciever , Roku, and PS3, so I do not need Apps , or more than 1 HDMI port.

Tax kills the rebate/gc deals as we have to pay tax on the gift card. So at ~9% and between 30-50 in selling the gc it's just not worth it. 600 vs 700-750... Oh well, always more deals.

I paid about $425 for a similar TV (UN55ES6003, dunno if this is a better/worse model??) from the deal back in December.

I like it. I like it a lot.

Well, it has to have at least HDMI 2.0 or it is really a very mediocre set. Sorry wave

That isn't a stupid question at all. You can pay your account balance with gift cards at some retailers.

So get ready for that possible unicorn, it's gonna hurt...
