Ok, I feel stupid asking this but on the free storage from storageninja how can you upload more than one file? All I get is a selection box to select a file to upload. Also, can't find the "Ninja file manager" app anywhere on the site. Do they expect us to upload 1 file at a time?

I canceled my Thundernews $7 account and signed up for this Premium $10 Newsdemon but how are you guys getting unlimited storage? It only gave me 1TB as soon as I signed up :/

Edit: Signed in onto my StorageNinja account and noticed is 10TB instead of 1TB :o
Now to find out if they have an iPhone app or atleast support Webdav access.
Just curious, why did you opt for the premium instead of the $6 deal?

Here is a good visual diagram of News Servers I found last year!

I have kept Astraweb as my primary server and have a Tweaknews block as my backup server (Use SabNZBD) and have zero issues whatsoever.
Tweak is slower due to the distance traveled by the packets but necessary for completeness.

If you only download a little a month then a block plan is the way to go. You'll find that many won't openly talk too much about Newsservers as it's been a rough couple months with NZB sites shutting down, DMCA takedowns, and private invites getting slimmer.

I'm not a member of any private sites and have been using Usenet for well over a decade now (remember Agent and 300 day retention on Giganews? anyone?)

If you know what to do just use binsearch or nzbclub to find older stuff!

Good deal but be warned DMCA seems to be hammering US usenet providers nowadays. Those linux isos end up being complete files a lot of times (this coming from someone that has Newsdemon for $6 unlimited from years ago). It almost makes me want to look for a Dutch or Euro Usenet provider or someone that provides a vpn service overseas that doesn't keep their log files for downloading torrents of those linux isos.

Which site do you guys use to get NZB's? I paid the yearly subscription at NZBmatrix and they closed down 4 months later Mad

Meh, after NZBmatrix got taken down there's no point using UseNet. Most uploads gets taken down after an hour or two of posting.

You can use automated downloaders but there's no way of telling if the file is fake or not. You can use private sites but good luck getting in.

Great deal! I have been on Newsdemon's $6/month plan for about a year now.

One thing to note - all of the online reviews of usenet service providers are somewhat outdated now. Providers like Astraweb used to be the best in terms of retention and file availability, but nowadays DMCA notices propagate through all providers (including the overseas providers) extremely quickly, sometimes within an hour or less.

Because of that, my experience would tell me to pick up a cheap unlimited account like this one, and then back it up with a block account from a different service provider. You'd setup SAB to use your unlimited as your primary, and only pull blocks from the backup if necessary. Done this way, even a small block account can last a very long time.

Thanks for the diagram, i finally dl and saved it.
Been using tweaknews as my main, as all us servers are for the most part useless.
How many connections are you using for tweak? It is slower per thread, but if i bump up to 20 connections or so, i fill my full 25-30mbits i get from my cable provider.

10tb of storage is worthless if you can only upload 1 file at a time. It's a cruel joke.

I just read newspapers online for my news. Why would anyone pay to read the news?

What's the troll's name who comes around anytime anything Usenet-related is posted? The one who states a whole bunch of crap that has no factual basis...

Just signed up. FYI, I was charged $9 when I looked at my Payment History on their site. It also stated $9 in the email they sent me. I had to do a live chat to have them correct my monthly charge to $6. For the $9 they already charged, I had to open a offline support ticket to ask for refund. Hopefully this will not be an issue, if so I will reply back here.
