yeah, mine is doing the same thing. The iphone one is definitely better, but they only had to design that for one phone, the android one needs to be used with so many different kinds of phones so you get a clumsy design with having to plug it in by usb and head phone jack. My brother got the iphone one and it comes with a remote which is pretty nice as well. The Bluetooth ones for andriod are probably the way to go, but $12 is a good price for what you get, would have returned it if i had paid full price for this thing.
cosigning on the iphone one being better.
I haven't used the remote yet (and I am sure that I will lose it soon), but I did put my ipad on it WITH THE CASE ON and I was still able to get it to charge. If I would have known that I could charge it with a case on it, I would have paid full price for it a few years ago!
LOVE THAT THING- (thanks again op!)
The android charger isn't all that special for me either. I will probably try to mod it into a charger for something else. The prongs look like the might fit the gps...
That is what I get for not testing it out in the store. I fell in love with the price and decided that I was going to roll with it x2.
At least it doesn't take up too much space in the closet!
FYI...Staples on Chandler Blvd & Alma School in Chandler, AZ still has one of the iHome for Android left. Just left there and it is still on the shelf.
The one in Camelback over by Best Buy had about 8 or 9 & elliot rd about 5 id91 yesterday still tagged at 99.99, but we all know what they're ringing up. Actually all the damn stores here in AZ still have $99.99 tags still by them...I smell employee re-sellers all over this damn town lol....I was forced to buy 1 @ $25 by the little 1 while on vacation, but will wait till they hit about $10 to clean out my town!

I got the last one at the Naperville store. It was in upstock and not on the shelves. It took the salesman about 10 minutes to find its hiding spot. Thanks OP. I have been wanting a device to play and charge my iPod touch.
I went to 2 of my local Staples stores. The first one had it marked as $69.99 on the shelf, but it rang up at $24.50. Tried to use the OfficeMax 25% off coupon and was told that they do not accept competitor coupons.
The 2nd Staples I went to had it marked as $49.99 but it rang up as $24.50 again. I asked the cashier if they accept competitor coupons and he took one glance at the coupon and accepted it. Ended up being $18.38 + tax = $19.90. Pretty good deal.
Hooked it up last night and am overall pleased with the sound quality. I like that I didn't have to remove the case on the iPod Touch to use it. The remote is also convenient and the overall look is pretty nice.
In case you were looking for something to do with the Android iHome, this is what I did.
I picked up one of the Android iHome alarms at my local staples. First, I tried charging my Android on it but, like many of the reviews on Amazon stated, the phone feels too precarious when perched on top of the microusb charger. Plus I didn't like the way I would have to plug in the audio every time I wanted to play music on my phone.
Rather than give up, I started thinking about other things I could do with this and I decided to make it a Bluetooth radio.
I found this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-NF...s=homespot and it was perfect. It was small, powered by microusb, and as a bonus it paired via NFC. There were some smaller Bluetooth adapters out there, but they were battery powered and charged via microusb, but I figured that since the battery wasn't necessary, that this would be a better solution. An additional bonus was all the cables included with this.
Unfortunately, it went out of stock for a few days, so I only just got it today. It's exactly what I was looking for. It's tiny, and mounts right on the dock. NFC pairing works great.
If you want to get creative, you could open it up and fit the circuit board entirely within the cubby in the radio and then hide the NFC antenna in the dock. I started doing this (hint, the case screws are hidden under the feet), but I stripped one of the screws holding the circuit board in I was unable to remove it. Maybe sometime in the future.
My only complaint is that it is quieter than I was expecting, but for $40, you have a great alarm clock radio with Bluetooth audio.
btw, does SD have special thread for staples cleareance items?
Yes but the published list of items had to be taken down due to abuse. As a result I scored a WD My Passport HD for $38.50 - $7.70 (20% coupon) = $30.80. Oh and I found the mobile keyboard for $12.50. Staples Clearances rock. Too bad we can't get the reports anymore.
