Thread Details

Location: The Costco at the District in Irvine, California
Original Price: $72.49
- $10 instant rebate
= OMG Price is $62.49. OMG

Rebate expires on 5/5/13

I saw that they have a $10 instant rebate for Patron Silver 1.75 liter.

I also went to the Fullerton Costco and see the same deal so it should be available at your Costco if they sell Alcohol and Patron!

No Rebate limit so you can buy as many as you want!

Costco usually prices this at $72.49-$80.00.

I've never seen the 1.75 Liter this low before bounce

Please note that this is Costco B&M YMMV California. If you are a non-tequila drinker or don't like alcohol, please don't post negative comments or how "over priced" Patron is.

Enjoy!

Whatever the case. $18 or so for 1.75l of 100% agave tequila is abt as good as it gets.

All Tequila has to be 100% agave by Mexican law.

"Blue Agave" is another story.

TSA makes the call, not the carrier.
I would agree that TSA may set the federal rules and guidelines for the minimum standard, but the carrier may set more stringent requriements. For example, I beleive Southwest Airlines state the product should be unopened, and in a leak proof container.

http://www.southwest.com/html/cus...e-pol.html

Alcoholic Beverages

Southwest allows alcohol to be carried in checked luggage under the following conditions.

Alcohol (wine and liquor) must be in the original unopened container with the manufacturer's label when transported in or as checked baggage.
The maximum quantity of liquor that may be transported in or as checked baggage on Southwest Airlines is five liters per Customer. Wine is not subject to the five-liter per Customer limitation.
Alcohol content may not exceed 70% by volume (140 proof).
Alcohol (wine and liquor) in checked baggage must be securely packaged in a leak-proof bag with adequate professional packaging designed to fit the proportions of the bottle to prevent breakage.
Alcohol (wine and liquor) accepted as checked baggage must be contained within a corrugated box secured with sealing tape. The contents must be packaged in a leak-proof bag with professional packaging designed to fit the proportions of the bottle to prevent breakage.
Liquor and wine packaging is available for sale at Southwest Airlines ticket counters for $5.00 per unit.
Southwest Airlines does not accept liability for breakage of liquids or fragile items in checked luggage even if transported in special packaging purchased from Southwest Airlines.
Packaging purchased at Southwest Airlines ticket counters is intended for liquor or wine placed inside checked baggage only.
Professional packaging by alcohol and wine suppliers (e.g., cruise lines, wineries, duty-free shops) is acceptable as long as the contents have adequate cushioning and the packaging prevents leakage.
All alcohol (wine and liquor) is subject to TSA screening.

This is overkill. I've never seen any SWA personnel open bags for alcohol content. Or any airline agent. Ever. And TSA screens the bags and they get on the plane.

A lot of tequilas are only 51% agave. Regular Jose Cuervo for example.

From Wikipedia -

There are two basic categories of tequila: mixtos and 100% agave. Mixtos use no less than 51% agave, with other sugars making up the remainder. Mixtos use both glucose and fructose sugars.

Went to my local Costco yesterday and it was marked down to $69.99 from $79.99. Darn SF Bay Area pricing.

Fun fact I learned in Mexico. Patron is made in Mexico and is pretty much only sold in America, with some exceptions. There's a ridiculous markup on it to make it seem like a really good tequila. It's marketed towards Americans as the be all end all of tequila, and they laugh their way to the bank.

This is a good price for it, I can't argue that. When Patron isn't on sale, Don Julio is far superior for the price.

Not worth it. Will weigh your bag down too much. Plus if you are going before 5/5 there is a Costco not too far from the strip. Or better yet, drink free Patron while you gamble.

They do at the one in Westbury; Long Island.
The Costco nearest the strip is not a regular Costco, only business (no alcohol and not a whole lot of stuff for consumers). The other Costco is far far away.
