Thread Details

Location: The Costco at the District in Irvine, California
Original Price: $72.49
- $10 instant rebate
= OMG Price is $62.49. OMG

Rebate expires on 5/5/13

I saw that they have a $10 instant rebate for Patron Silver 1.75 liter.

I also went to the Fullerton Costco and see the same deal so it should be available at your Costco if they sell Alcohol and Patron!

No Rebate limit so you can buy as many as you want!

Costco usually prices this at $72.49-$80.00.

I've never seen the 1.75 Liter this low before bounce

Please note that this is Costco B&M YMMV California. If you are a non-tequila drinker or don't like alcohol, please don't post negative comments or how "over priced" Patron is.

Enjoy!

can you check in 1.7 liter of patron on a checked in luggage? Never done it before; thinking of getting it for vegas.
I've brought 2-3 750s of various items on trips before. I would get two 1L water bottles and pour it in for travel (not as impressive when you get to Vegas, but it will at least make it nod) The 1.75s of Patron look nice, but wouldn't trust them to travel upside down at elevation.

Not the same. Not sure why everyone things Costco gets these top brands to private label top shelf stuff for them. Why would Patron want to trade Costco customers to something that is so much cheaper? They may get Patron to bottle some leftovers that may be "ok" for $21, but it is not the same in any way shape or form.

Sorry I work in the industry and all of these SD on alcohol make me shake my head.

The OP's deal is a damn good price on Patron. In the Midwest here and best I have seen lately is 32.99 per 750ml or $77 per 1.75 equiv.

Alcohol laws vary greatly between states though and I imagine Cali has an aggressive tequila market.
Not sure why someone "in the industry" would not be aware that Patron does not bottle it's own stuff. They have their stuff bottled for them just like most tequilas do. The Patron label is the result of marketing. It is laughable that people will spend $70 on Patron when there is other stuff out there that is much better and less expensive. You are paying $50 out of that $70 on commercials and marketing.

This is not a thread on where Patron is bottled. Not going to get into it with you because I do not care what you think I know.

My post had info and then tied in to OP. Your reply makes you look like an ass

Not Bacardi 151 nor Everclear... shake head
That is correct. It has to be less than 70%/140 proof.

When it comes to Costco, they often require manufacturers to produce private label products for them in exchange for carrying/selling a product. Most of the hype/price of a product is marketing. Sometimes there's some minor differences.

While doing some tech work for a large bakery, I watched while the same product (bread) went from the main company bread bags, to "store brand" bags.

Apparently the Costco rep was full of it. I just went and looked at my Kirkland label, and it's NOM 1472. Which rules out Patron. Oh well, it has good reviews, regardless.

I was gonna mention the NOM

I think they're going off that whole "Kirkland vodka is Grey Goose" thing and running with it.

Whatever the case. $18 or so for 1.75l of 100% agave tequila is abt as good as it gets.

I found 1800 to be much "brighter" in flavor but then almost 2x the price too.

Evidently 1800 is spotty too. Some great bottlings n some crap ones so maybe I just got lucky.

To bring it all back to the OP, yes, this is prob as good as it gets for Patron.

Anyone in Delaware that can confirm pricing? I would take a drive from Philly if it's that price or close too it.

TSA rules aside, you also need to check your airline for their requirements. It's posted on their website.

TSA makes the call, not the carrier.

David is absolutely correct. If you've ever been to Mexico and gone to a grocery store, you'd see for yourself what the tequila market is really like. There are at least 50 other brands of tequila that are much better than Patron for 1/4th the price. I have to tip my hat to their marketing but I never throw my money away on bad tequila.

They do at the one in Westbury; Long Island.
INSIDE the Costco store? They sell Kirkland brand liquor and 1.75L Patron? There's a store in Yonkers that has an independent liquor store annexed to it, but I am unaware of a NY Costco that sells Kirkland (or any brand) liquor inside.

Hackensack, NJ (near Ft. Lee/GW bridge) has a Costco that sells liquor INSIDE of the store. Not sure about NY state, but if you are ever in Jersey coming across the GW bridge. Its worth the stop.

I understand and agree. Grey Goose is the same. They were there first and now people think it is great. Didnt want to yell at all the SD'ers and tell them what to like. This is a good deal IF you want Patron. The Hispanics in this area buy more Sauza Hornitos and El Jimador than Patron.

Patron is crap, but really it's fine for mixing. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy this to sip or shoot.
