too bad I bought the linksys one for $48 a few weeks ago. This would have worked just fine.

Great deal for the 99% of people who won't notice a difference with DOCSIS 3.0 and are paying upwards of $7.00 per month for their modem.

MBps as the OP wrote

unless you have google fiber, that's not very likely

and they hand out their own boxes

I don't understand, what's not very likely?

edit: nvm I re-read and I guess you mean having 50MB would be unlikely. In which case I agree.

time warner offers 50mbit and other cable providers (and in some twc areas) they offer 100mbit

yeah i dont get it, and i also dont get why it matters to the person who asked. if you have 50MBit+ dont get this, if you do, then get it. if you are OK with less than 50mbit, great.

I've read you need Docsis 3.0 for TWC 30Mbps service

this modem pays itself, comcast charges 7usd per month for modem rental.

I used to have 20mb, but then I decided it was too much so I went to 12mbps, now I went all the way down to 6mbps, still great
I get 850KB/s in downloads
Youtube HD and netflix HD. I really don't feel the difference unless I have a background download.
